Customer Review: Don't waste your time or money

The favorable reviews of this product must be planted and fictitious. What arrives is a disappointment even before it is out of its packaging; a tiny little thing,far smaller than what one would reasonably expect for a solar charger. You look at it and wonder how something with such a small surface area could collect any solar power.
And then you get it out of the packaging and realize how lightweight and cheap the product is. You're supposed to charge the thing several times using the wall charger before charging using the sun; it was plugged in for hours on end and the charging light never went off.
From what I could tell, out of the five or six included tips, only one tip was compatible with any of the devices I need to charge, Droid, Creative Labs mp3 player, and blackberry. I plugged it into my mp3 player, which immediately registered as charging. For about 5 minutes and then the charger was drained. Charged it again for hours with the wall charger, tried it agaqin, got a charge of several minutes, and it was drained again. Then the wall charger (really cheap construction) broke.
The only good thing about this product is that it was subject to Amazon's return policy. I mailed it back on Saturday (postage paid by Amazon), and on Thursday I got an email indicating the return had been received.

I purchased this at the same time I bought the Portable Hybrid Solar Charger for Blackberry, iPhone, Nokia, etc. I wanted a device that would stand up to some abuse and still work - my son is studying in India and seems to be having trouble keeping his Blackberry charged.
This unit is much better made than the other one, but has half the solar cell surfaceThe instructions are sparse - barely adequate. When charging on mains the blue led flashes brightly no matter what the charge state, which makes it hard to tell if it's fully charged. It does charge my Blackberry though the USB connector sometimes lost contact if moved. I haven't yet tried charging the phone while the unit is on solar.
Overall it's worth the money and I will send it on to India (hope it reaches him!)

I purchased two Solar Charger i-101. One was for my Grandson - the Eco Warrior and one for me the Absent minded professor. I'm always forgetting to charge my phone and it runs out of juice. With this little unit, I plug it in leave the unit in a sunny location and I'm ready to make calls and check messages in a couple of hours. My Grandson will get his for Christmas and I'm sure he'll love being able to save the planet by not using electricity. I'd recommend the unit. I must admit after reading some of the reviews I was alittle worried. But after having received my solar charger and putting it to the test I give it a rave review. Please make sure that you fully read the directions when using your cell phone or Ipod with this. There are several different settings to adapt to cell phones, Ipods etc. Also fully charge it with the wall adapter first 3 times. Don't worry if the light stays red past eight hours, I promise you it is charging and will turn green there after.Customer Review: No complaints at all!

Guys, I was comparing the voltage output and low-light chargingcapability of several devices on the market for my job assignment. Ido not want to put the other devices down, but I thought to leave areview of i101. It was a winner in all of my tests. Polycrystallinepanels are more effective than monocrystals. And the output of thisproduct was always very consistent. We ended up buying quite a few forour support operations. No complaints at all! I definitely recommendit for price and quality.
