After receiving the Robosapien (purchased in November) I had wrapped the gift for the Holidays and there was no way of testing this product prior.
Unfortunately, from great expectations the remote does not work, I am still working with the company to come to a resolution on receiving a replacement remote and have gone through a lot of communication, and two months later have not been able to use the toy.
Recommendation: If you plan on giving as a gift, it would be a good idea to open the toy and conduct a simple test to ensure no disappointment occurs.

Unless you have a high IQ please don't even bother use. I got one for Xmas. It was incredibly hard to get out the box and we had to buy batteries too. Finally on mine the infra-red signal (what makes him "obey your commands") was totally broke. Even if he hadn't been broke it wouldn't have been much fun since you have to use color codes on the remote which is so complicated an adult would have a hard time working the robot. You are better off buying a more creative robot kit that actually lets you build the robot. This kit is for uncreative geeks only.Customer Review: Hello

This is the first time I have ever looked at reviews before on a toy? Thanks for the great advise. I bought this toy for my son for Christmas. I'm sure he will love it. These reviews give me good insight on what I have to look forward to on Christmas when my son opens his present. There is one review I would like to reply on. Mr Richard Canderlieri, what point does your review have to do with anything about this toy! Two words can sum it up for you; BAH HUMBUG! Maybe a little fun in your life is what you need. Don't get me wrong or nothing, Robosapien is totally fun to mess around with. None of the functions work quite as well as I would like them to, but they're all still pretty cool. Getting him out of the box is annoying, but it's not too different from some other toys and boxes you've had to deal with before. The control is a trip. It looks like a huge universal remote to control your house or something, but no - just Robosapien.
I'm going to go with these other peeps. Wait for v2 and try to find it on sale.

My 7 year old son got this toy for his birthday. The first day he played with it for hours quickly learning how to program it. He's a high tech kind of kid. He's had it for a little over a month now and hasn't played with it nearly as much as I thought he would. I like the toy and the idea behind the toy but it's too expensive for the amount of play time it gets. I was going to get my other son the dinosaur but after seeing what happened with the robot we won't be buying the dinosaur unless the price goes way down.
