Toys and Games Reviews of Space Explorer Space Shuttle Launch Center Playset with Educational Rocket PosterCustomer Review: finally a shuttle with rocket boosters! Summary: 3 Stars
my three year old son is in love with rockets. he specifically asked for a shuttle with the rocket boosters for christmas. this was pretty much the only one i could find. it is cheaply made...i don't know how long it will survive my son's rocket launches. the other drawback is that the rocket boosters don't detach from each other. (my son has watched numerous shuttle launches; his favorite part (besides the actual liftoff) is when the boosters detach and fall back down to earth) it's a good toy...especially for an older child that understands how to play gently with their toys...but it is fairly cheaply made.
Customer Review: best shuttle I found... Summary: 4 Stars
My son is obsessed with "blast-offs" and picked out this toy as a special reward. It has brought countless hours of delight and play. I will agree with the other reviewers that it is cheaply made and there is very little actual metal (mostly plastic); however, it has not broken or caused any problems. I definitely think the price is a little high considering the quality, but I simply could not find another realistic space shuttle with these features. If your child is really into space shuttles I think it is worth it, otherwise I would probably skip it.
Customer Review: Not happy Summary: 3 Stars
It is difficult to re-attach the orbiter to the external fuel tank, then it falls off very easily. The rocket boosters and fuel tank do not separate from each other. If your kid knows that the boosters separate before the fuel tank separates, you are in for some explaining. I wish I would have searched longer and paid more for something better. My three-year-old loves this toy, but gets frustrated with it. Also, the fuel tank should be brown, not orange. I know, I am a nerd, but if you are too, then you do not want this toy.
Customer Review: I should've listened to the other reviews Summary: 1 Stars
This product is absolutely cheaply made. I really wanted a space shuttle for my son and now wish I had simply gone without for his birthday. It fell apart within 15 minutes. Literally, wheels broke apart and the shuttle now cannot attach to the boosters in any way. I am just glad he lost interest immediately in his broken toy rather than being upset.
I am off to find something else but will settle for nothing before I buy a replacement.
Customer Review: Great toy. Summary: 4 Stars
My son (almost 4) loved it. It is very realistic, which is what I consider to be its greatest strength. He understands now how the space shuttle launches, detaches, reenters, etc. The cargo doors of the space shuttle are the weakest point. One of ours broke the first day (to be fair, my son stepped on it by accident). Also, if the shuttle is standing on the launch pad, it tends to fall off of the rockets/tank piece. Otherwise, an excellent toy.
