Customer Review: Poor Quality New Ones, Only Good if it's Old

These new cubes use very cheap plastic and are stiff to turn. A piece snapped in two the first day. It was unrepairable. When I returned it to the store, even the clerk commented that the quality is terrible (the plastic feels light-weight and flimsy).
I've been playing with the Rubik's Cube since the 1980s. I got this new cube with the collector stand as a replacement for my over 10-year-old cube (which still works, but the decals are beginning to chip off).
I recommend the Rubik's Cube only if you can find an older one. You will know it's older because the blue and white sides are opposite each other. Avoid the ones where you can see red, white and blue at the same time like the one pictured here. These will be the poor-quality, new ones. They break too easily and you will be very disappointed.

Buy a Rubik's Cube and learn how to solve it. It is life changing!!! These really jumped up in price from just last week, probably due to high demand, but it's a small price to pay because seeing people's expressions when I solve it is priceless. Today when kids are obsessed by video games, computers, TV, and movies, the Rubik's Cube is a great escape. What are you waiting for?

although i didn't buy the rubiks cube off of amazon i still have the same thing. I dont know how everyone out there breaks it so easily you must be throwing it on the floor or something but the gist is it is a great brainteaser i got one side done in 20-30 minutes Customer Review: Stickers come out

Bought this cube to finally figure out how to solve it. Checked a couple of links on the internet and after a few months of on/off playing, I can finally solve this cube. However, the stickers are coming out. Seems like this cube is made by having a base white sticker, and then another layer on top of them. All the sides are peeling off, except for the white side.
Love this toy, however, I am currently looking for a more durable one.
