Toys and Games Reviews of Rubik's CubeCustomer Review: Great fun for my 11 year old Summary: 5 Stars
My 11 year old son became obsessed with solving his father's really old knock off Rubik's Cube at Thanksgiving. A piece of it broke off while we were walking the dog and he was fiddling with it. I decided maybe a new cube would be a good idea for Xmas. Well, he realized that his father's old cube had been messed with and couldn't be solved (somebody had peeled stickers and moved them). He figured out how to solve the cube and is timing himself to get as speedy as he can. He gives his friends turns messing it up and then he times himself solving it. I think it is a great mind enhancing game. Now, he is hoping for the 5x5 for his birthday.
Customer Review: Timeless Entertainment! NO BATTERIES REQUIRED!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I enjoyed this when I was a child and it is a real treat to now see my child also having a great time with the CUBE. I'm thrilled that it is not an electronically stimulating toy! Amazing that kids can still go for that these days. The newer version as compared to the one of olden days spins much smoother and appears to be a little larger. Looks like it will be more durable. However I also purchased the 4x4 and 5x5 for my son and the 4x4 broke within the first 10 minutes. You have to be careful with the larger ones to make sure you have the squares lined up perfectly before you turn a row.
Customer Review: Fun toy for kids Summary: 5 Stars
I was concerned when reading others' reviews about the product quality, but got it anyway since it's on sale. For less than 7 bucks, I didn't expect high quality.
It turns out to be quite nice.
It turns smoothly just as I remembered when I was a kid. We had it for over a month now. My son plays it everyday (his class has a morning contest for Rubik's Cube every morning) and it has been holding up well.
None of us can do speed cubing, so I don't know if it will survive long under heavy using. But it's definitely more than enough for kids play.
Customer Review: Many hours of fun or frustration Summary: 4 Stars
You gotta love the rubics cube. It is just an all time favorite and classic toy. I remember playing with this toy 30 years ago. Once i removed the stickers to complete the puzzle. Of course this ruins the toy for future attempts at the puzzle. Then later i learned how to take it apart and reassemble the puzzle so it was solved.
Now as an adult i just sit up for hours ever so close to solving it without the former mentioned tactics.
The cube comes with instructions for solving. i just don't get them though.
Still you gotta love the rubics cube
Customer Review: Just like I remember as a kid Summary: 4 Stars
I was a little concerned when purchasing it after reading reviews of stickers coming off and pieces coming out, but I'm glad I got it anyway. Our family has been playing with it for over 2 months now and all the stickers are still firmly attached. I have taken it apart one time to re-lubricate it, and it turns smoother than ever. If the solving instructions that come with it seem a bit like memorizing calculus theorems [...]With some perseverance, this method begins to make sense and soon you'll be solving without looking at the instructions at all.
