In my time I was Rubik's cube school champion and maybe the first person in Venezuela who could solve the "büvöskocka" or "magic cube" as its called in its native Hungary. I bought one for my nine year son because of its educational value, but compared to the original, it's definitely sticky and somewhat difficult to turn. I did every possible trick in the book: silicone, disassembly and polish, but to no avail. Anyway,don't get me wrong: the product is one of quality, but not for us "racing fans" where turning and twisting must be made really fast. If you're interested in studying the cube, or give it light use, that this cube is perfect for you, but if its performance what you're seeking, you'll be better of with an original --even used-- at ebay. I'll give it three stars because its not bad, but not perfect either, which in my vocabulary spells as from average to mediocre.Customer Review: 3x3 Rubik's Cube by Winning Moves

I have had this for a bit over 1 month now and it has met my expectations as a rubik's cube.
After the first week of fiddling an average 2 hrs every day, I found the joints to get a bit stiff and one would occasionally hear a creaking noise. I find that applying a small amount of Vaseline/petroleum jelly/lubricant solves this problem for quite awhile.
The only real issue now is that after this first month that I've had it--one or two of the colored-stickers are beginning to peel itself off after rough play. I don't remember Rubik's cubes a few years back having stickers this weak, but I suppose it's mostly due in part to how often I play around with it on work-breaks.
This Rubik's Cube is very durable for what you pay for and is appropriate for developing toddlers to the elderly alike.

Rubik's cubes are great - in general. And they make great gift ideas for almost any occasion.
Tips on how to solve this one are all over the internet especially youtube. There are even tips online for speedsolving, tricks like behind-the-back solving (where you memorize cube positions), and Rubik's cube patterns.
THIS IS ONE TOY YOU WILL NEVER GET TIRED OF (but if you do, you can just buy the larger cubes or trickier puzzles that build up on the previous ones)
The one I bought online was actually cheaper than I would have found at Walgreens or in a game store. I recommend not buying this product [...], because it shouldn't cost more than that, no matter what the quality. Don't be duped into thinking more expensive is higher quality; in this case, they're all about the same quality.

Okay, the concept of this game cube is great, and believe me: you will spend many hours trying to solve this puzzle.
Now on to the reality...
I first tried this brain buster in the eighties when it came out. Upon its first release, the stickers stayed on, the plastic squares didn't break off, and it just seemed like a higher quality piece. I beleive the plastic might have been heavier.
But now, twenty years later, the stickers peal off, the squares pop out. JUNK, JUNK, JUNK!
If this was made in the USA it would now cost more than it does being manufactured over seas, however ...it wouldn't be junk.
You get what you pay for.

The last cube i bought had all the adhesive fall off, maybe i got lucky but this cube is awesome. The white adhesives have started to peel but thats white and doesnt matter, also ive solved it a couple thousand times by now. The math behind it if learned is incredible, there is so much to the cube. So far it has been incredible, if stickers do become a problem go to cubesmith dot com for the best stickers availale. It is not the best cube though, it aquires dirt over time which slows it down and after a couple months hsould need silicone spray as a lubricant. It does lock up a lot though which pisses me off, but a lot less than eastsheens for that matter dont even seel 3 by 3's.
