Toys and Games Reviews of Pass the PigsCustomer Review: Don't pass on Pass the Pigs! Summary: 5 Stars
I was introduced to this game a couple months ago. It's a perfect, perfectly mindless, fun game to play over some drinks, &c. when you don't want to get too focused, left-brained or serious. Basically you toss a pair of little pigs and make points based on how they land -- on their sides, back, feet, nose, etc. (Warning: highly addictive). Maybe children would take it more seriously. I haven't tried the card game that comes with this version (why bother?) -- but I heartily recommend Pass The Pigs. It would be the ideal game to play while hanging with your friends, listening to Jeffrey Frederick and the Clamtones singing "Porky."
Customer Review: Great family / friendship night fun! Summary: 5 Stars
When our friends pulled this game out the other night, I really didn't think it was going to be a very good game. But looks can be deceiving!! What a funny time we had. The pigs are soft and cute and very small- all of which adds to the silliness. You add the points up in your head (if you wish), and can keep rolling until you lose everything or decide to keep what you have and pass the pigs. Kind of like a TV game show. Points are awarded according to how your pigs land on the table, which you tally from the chart provided.
Long-short, we immediately had to buy one of our own, and the game is now a family favorite!
Customer Review: Bad Design Summary: 1 Stars
I have played this game for many years, but wanted to order a new set. What I discovered was apparently a bad design flaw in the pigs. The whole purpose of the game is when you roll the pigs you get points based on how they land. With this new set the pigs often landed in a position that was somewhere in between laying on their side and laying on their back. It appeared as if the tail was made wrong. The final landing position of the pigs means everything in the game and if you can't determine if you have "razorback" or if it's laying on its side, then it's useless. Amazon took the return with no problems whatsoever!
Customer Review: pass the pigs is addicting Summary: 5 Stars
This game looks and sounda like it would be ridiculous, but it is actually so much fun that you pretty much can't stop playing it. It is also small enough and simple enough that you can play it anywhere that there's a flat surface to roll the little piggies. It's like rolling dice, except they're pigs, and the way that they land (standing, laying, leaning, etc...) determines how many points you get - or if you lose your points. ou keep rolling until you want to stop and keep your points or you go bust. First person to 100 points wins. Play for fun, money or whatever. It really is a great little game. Well worth it.
Customer Review: greatest restaurant game ever!! Summary: 5 Stars
My family and I take this game to restaurants all the time. It is small and compact, with few pieces, and you can play a whole game before your food arrives. It helps teach basic math skills, though apart from the math it is basically a "luck" game. I especially enjoy the randomness of rolling pigs to get points... I mean, who ever thought up that one? Whoever they were, they did a great job on it. This game is also good for airport waits, doctor/dentist office waits, when you are bored at home... basically whenever and wherever the opportunity presents itself :)
Buy it people, its great!
