I first played this terrific game ten years ago and have loved it ever since. A great way for kids to understand the stock market, I had always wanted a copy. I scoured toy stores to no avail and was once told by a supercillious greasy-headed know-it-all adolescent manager that "there's no game called Pit. It does'nt exist." (Perhaps he thought I referred to his I.Q. score) I should have skipped the hassle and come here first! Threethreethree...three cheers for Amazon!!!Customer Review: Favorite family game for 20 years!

My family has played this game with players from age 6 to 65, in groups of 4 to 9 people for at least the last 20 years. It takes no more than one hand to learn, there are some points of strategy for the cerebral, and everyone loves the commotion. We don't bother to keep score, and we've developed variations like spoons Pit and silent Pit. This year I bought new games to give my friends (couples in their 20s and 30s) who I think of as family. We have a pretty nice collection of games, but this is the one everyone wants to play at all our family gatherings. It is great because the rules are simple and up to 8 people can play. This game always helps get the people that normally wouldn't play games like Scrabble or Pictionary involved (although younger children often have trouble keeping up with the fast pace of the game). I bought this game for my mom for christmas and we played it...right now it is in my game closet because I introduced this game to my poker friends and now we have "PIT" night instead of poker night. We can not stop laughing when we play this game. We bring this to all get-togethers and everyone loves it.I had to buy my mom a new PIT game because I take it all the time. We have been foster and adoptive parents for 13 years. Our "initiation" into the family includes a lasagna supper, followed by a "Pit" game. It's a blast! It's a great way to get kids to feel at home. With six kids, our family is not going to grow any larger, but we have "initiated" a new brother-in-law and several girlfriends of our sons the same way! We hope to play Pit with our grandchildren, too! We are on our 4th set!
