Toys and Games Reviews of Deluxe PitCustomer Review: An Absolute Blast! Summary: 5 Stars
Great family or party game and it is even a terrific icebreaker. We had middle school kids who didn't know each other bond instantly while playing. When you explain the rules, it may seem like it isn't much fun, but that idea is quickly dispelled as enthusiastic "traders" begin yelling at each other to be the one to collect all of the cards of a particular commodity. Cards are dealt and players select a commodity they wish to try to collect, say corn, and trade their other cards in an attempt to collect more corn. The first player to corner the market rings a bell and wins the round. It is boisterious indeed and will spark life into any group.
Customer Review: LOVE Pit! Summary: 5 Stars
Pit is possibly the loudest family game ever. It's just a bunch of cards and a little bell, but the action turns your dining room table into a trading floor. Everyone's screaming numbers across the table at each other and holding up fingers trying to trade cards and it can get pretty boisterous. In my experience, this is not a good game for all families. Some folks are more subdued and prefer quieter evenings of discussion and relaxation. Others like it loud, and for those people I recommend this game. It's loud, but it's a blast. A frenzy of shouting and card trading for about 4 minutes and then it's all over and you play again. Big fun!
Customer Review: Fantastic New but Old Game Summary: 5 Stars
Our family was introduced to the game of Pit about thirty-five years ago! We have many wonderful memories around the kitchen table with other family and friends shouting and laughing while playing this great game! Even the younger members of the family can participate, on an adult's lap, or on their own if about 5yr. During one exciting game with one of my cousins(male), a family friend(female)came over and joined in the game...it was love at first sight! They were married a year later! Now, we don't promise love at first sight, but we WOULD recommend PIT whole-heartedly to any family who loves to have fun together!
Customer Review: AWSOME~! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best card game ever. It involves trading "stocks." The idea is to get all of your cards in the same category (ex: wheat, barley, oranges)Let's say you have 7 wheat cards and 2 orange cards. You would scream "2 2 2 2 2" until another player also screams "2 2 2 2 2". You would trade cards with this player. If the two cards are wheat, YOU WIN! If the aren't then you keep trading until you get 2 more wheat cards. Trust Me this is a great Game!Durability: they're cards, cards bend, just be careful Educational: Not too educational but who cares? Games are supposed to be fun!
Customer Review: A great game for all ages Summary: 5 Stars
A group of high school students introduced me to this game. I am 65 and enjoyed it as much as they. I decided to buy the game myself and imagine my surprise when I found out the game was 100 years old.
I soon played it with an extended family group, ages 7 to 65. All enjoyed the game. The enthusiasm, laughs and emotion it generates is unbelievable. Yet the game is so simple. Just like the real Chicago Board of Trade "Pit", the bidding, yelling, bartering, trading is filled with enthusiasm.
It probably takes 5 or more people to play and get the full effect.
