We've played canasta with this deck a couple dozen times. It's starting to wear out, but I can't say we haven't gotten good use out of it. The art is festive, and the cards are informative (with a game like canasta, it's nice to have the point values on the cards). Personally, we tossed the "Caliente" cards because we don't think it adds anything (good) to the game. For anyone who hasn't played canasta, it's an excellent game that requires a good deal of statistical skill or instinct to play well. Highly recommend it.Customer Review: Fun Game Lousy Cards

Fun game. Lousy cards. Two of the cards were torn but that wasn't what bothered us the most. The cards have some kind of powder that makes your hands feel dirty and sticky. We could actually taste this stuff. Strange. We really wonder what it is that they put on them in China. I saw this item and ordered it to teach my 7 and 9 year old children Canasta. I thought the colorful version would make it more interesting. I was extremely pleased when I got it. Not only is it true to the game, but the colors and revolving card tray make it easy for new players to learn.I'd recommend it very highly to current Canasta players and to anyone who wants to play a rummy type game with their children.

Canasta is a great game and is a lot of fun!! I would suggest buying the standard version though. The Deluxe Caliente version comes with a goofy plastic card holder that is not worth using, and four negative bonus cards that make it "Caliente". We threw those cards out after a few games. Buy the cheaper one. It's just the same- only without the expensive gimmicks.Customer Review: fun game

This is a really fun game to play with 2 couples but be sure to read the rules thoroughly so you understand the game and the point system.
We had a great time playing it. Any age group over 12 could probably understand and enjoy it.
I like the fact that it included the tray, that made the handling of the cards easier.
