Toys and Games Reviews of Wild Planet A Pirate's Life Treasure HunterCustomer Review: Toy of Average Interest Summary: 3 StarsWe bought this for our 4-year old grandson who loves to play hide-and-seek. However, his 6-year old brother showed more interest in playing with it. They both liked the beeps and the lights when trying to find the bottom of the treasure chest. However, the 4-year old quickly lost interest and preferred playing good-old hide-and-go-seek. He hid with the treasure box; however, he kept turning it off. The 6-year old played with it longer; however, he found it frustrating that the red light indicated he was "hot" but he still could not find the treasure since the box could be hidden in small areas. We give this an average rating.
Customer Review: Great for hide in seek! Summary: 5 StarsGot this for my 4 year old at Christmas. He loves it and I do too. After many games of hide and go seek, you as an adult run out of places to hide. This toy changes everything by allowing to hide it in many more places.
Customer Review: A great game of hide and seek Summary: 5 StarsBoth of my boys (5-yrs & 8-yrs-old) have loved playing with it. They each take a turn hiding and seeking and have even played with other friends. The treasure chest seems to be pretty well made. It has been dropped two or three times from about table height and has survived the fall in working order. The colors are easy to see, but there is no volume control for the sound. As long as the kids are not hiding/seeking for and extensive time in the same room you may be trying to have a conversation it's not all that loud. They have hidden the lower part in cabinets and the top can still find it through the wood doors. There was one nighlight at my in-laws that did give the boys a wrong reading, but no other lights or apppliances have done so. There is a little clear plastic plate on the lower part that can be opened to put a small, flat treasure in (a coin or a folded piece of paper). It is educational in that it has taught them a fair amount about problem-solving and trial and error learning. I highly recommended this toy.
Customer Review: Wild Planet Pirate Life Treasure Hunter Summary: 4 StarsMy grandson really enjoys this toy. Smaller than I expected for the price but a very enjoyable game.
Customer Review: Treasure hunt Summary: 4 StarsWorks very well. Light goes from yellow to red once you get within range of the treasure. Halves are hard to separate but there is no reason they have to be kept locked together other than for better storage.
