This game certainly gets five stars. Except I'd forget the board and play it like the old fictionary (dictionary) game. You know, everybody reads their anwer, if someone votes for their bogus answer, they - the originator of the answer - gets a point. Also, anyone who guesses the correct answer gets a point. And the dealer gets a point if no one guesses the correct anwer - - in this case the second half of some ridiculous aphorism. Dealers rotate after every round. But, even with the inclusion of the silly board, I give it five stars. - david
p.s. If this sounds too detailed, it is because English is my second language. My first language was Bostonian, or, rather, a suburb there of.

Our family has played this game for 3-4 year now. It's probably our favorite family board game. We laugh at the sayings we create, we laugh at the real sayings, and we end up having a truly fun time together. It's great for language and creative writing skills as each player needs to learn to craft plausible proverbs - although the true proverbs are often wackier than the ones we think up. We've played this game with people ages 4-75. It also seems to work best with 5 or more people. Obviously, pre-readers and writers get lots of special help, but they are still satisfied. The preteens do surprisingly well and everyone older than that prefers Wise and Otherwise most other creative games.Customer Review: A delicious game

The first board game I've ever played where I found myself thinking about it at odd times days afterwards-still laughing! I know I'm not the only one because several people we've played with have been repeating hilarious sayings to me weeks later. What a great, great game. The idea of making up endings to all these sayings from places like Jamaica and Mozambique is really clever and then the great surprise when you play it is that everyone seems to get this combination of feeling pleased with themselves and the clever ending they made up, and then getting really silly, laughing over other people's. It's a totally relaxed, let loose kind of game that's very funny and creative.Customer Review: Too much fun

I played this game for the first time tonite, a friend brought it over and we were all in tears. It was fun to listen to everyones endings for the quotes. It can get dirty depending on who you play with. It's also fun, if you know someone is uncomfortable and self concious to make a saying that will make them blush. Sometimes the most obvious answers seem wrong, but they are the actuall saying. I plugged in answer for the saying, "You can find beans where..." "...hippos wear tutus and tigers dance the Can Can". As you can see, it can get quite out of hand. But I look forward to purchasing this game myself and look forward to many long nights of entertainment.Customer Review: GREAT party game for all ages!

I bought this game for my husband for Christmas based on the reviews of other readers. Buy this game--you won't be disappointed! Basically, players take turns judging and writing their own endings to "old sayings" from different cultures. For example, "There is an old Irish saying....Don't bolt the door...". Everyone scrambles to write an ending that they think others will pick as the CORRECT ending. Everyone's answers are hilarious, and it's often hard to choose which is the correct one (by the way, the answer was "with a boiled carrot")! Most ages will enjoy this game--it had us laughing for hours. It's definitely my favorite new game.
