Toys and Games Reviews of Vtech Preschool Learning Tote and Go Laptop - 2010 VersionCustomer Review: My 2 year old knows her ABC's. Thanks VTech! Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter always wanted to play with my laptop so I picked this one up for her on her 2nd birthday (August). And by October, no joke, she knew every letter of the alphebet. This laptop comes with 30 different games, one of which shows you an upper case (or lower case) letter and the child needs to correctly push the correspoding letter. My daughter is now 2 years, 7 months, and in preschool. Her teachers are amazed that she can correctly identify every letter they show her (upper and lower case). Sure we sing the ABC's and I can't deny that she is very smart but I sincerely attribute most of her alphebet knowledge to this little laptop and I highly recommend it. Thanks VTech.
Customer Review: Good Value Summary: 4 Stars
I got this for my son's 3rd birthday. He has a 4 year old brother and 7 year old sister. Maybe because it's new, but they all want to play with it. It holds their attention for 15-30 minutes at a time. The kids love to dance to the music tunes in the car or at home. The handle makes it easy for little hands to grip, so it travels everywhere with us. My daughter says she likes it better than the Thomas the Train laptop my other son got for his birthday because it tells you the right answer. It's very durable and easy to use. I don't find the volume level to be too high like other reviewers. All in all, it's a great value with lots of features.
Customer Review: DON'T OVERPAY Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great toy - my then two year old loved it immediately and a year later she still uses it quite a bit. It helped her early on with letter recognition, both lower case and upper case. It is fairly durable and the power times out after about five minutes of no use, which is great for battery life. the screen is very low tech, but it never bothered my daughter. The sound doesn't have much of a volume control -- there is one, but it's of limited use. I have picked these up for my daughter's friends (birthdays) and have always found them for around $[...] ($[...] on sale at Target). Don't pay these overpriced market place sellers.
Customer Review: Not bad for the price Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this for my daughter for Christmas and she is 2 years old at this time. I think for the $15 price that I paid it was a good deal compared to many of the other sorts of toys in that price range. We have this one and she also got the Leap Frog laptop that was about the same price and I have to say that she really has played a lot more with the Leap Frog laptop, perhaps because it seems to have more fun features for a child her age such as playing music and being a bit more easy to navigate. I do recommend this laptop though because it was a good value, seems pretty durable, and comes out of the box with batteries installed.
Customer Review: Fantastic for 3+ Summary: 5 Stars
My son got this laptop for his 3rd birthday. It was fun for him to push buttons and click the mouse just like mom and dad, however he didn't know how to really use it. He is now almost 3 1/2 and the light just clicked one day. He started matching shapes and then started matching the letters and numbers. In two weeks he has learned almost all of the alphabet. I love that it helps kids recognize upper and lower case letters. He now wants a bit more of a challange and plays the game where you type the letters before the monkey can pop them. He has fun playing on his computer and I love knowing that he is learning at the same time.
