Customer Review: Kids found it frustrating

Good: challenging
Bad: Small, black and white screen.
My kids, who are both in a private school and doing very well, found this toy frustrating. They rarely play with it and we just got it for Christmas. I thought the screen would be bigger, so it's hard to sit next to them and try to help them with some of the excercises, which I thought might help hold their interest (parental involvment). My younger son, who is four, enjoys it more than his five year old brother, but not to the point where he can't wait to play with it. They much prefer their V-Smile Video games to this, which is a shame considering I paid a hundred bucks for two of them.
Also, the controls are difficult for them to operate. It doesn't seem to be enough like a real laptop for them to get it. Maybe it's just me...but I'm slightly disappointed in this.

I got this for my 5 year old daughter about 8 months ago. She loves it and it keeps her away from my computer. It's a great product for kids who are starting to learn how to read, but I think it would be pretty lame for older kids. I think ages 4 - 8 might do well with this product. My daughter enjoys using it in the car. She unplugs the mouse and uses the mouse on the keyboard. The batteries have lasted a really long time too. This has been a favorite for my daughter and it has taught her a lot. A parent can go into it and check a "Report Card" as it tracks how well your child is doing in different areas. This has allowed me to work with her on areas where she isn't scoring very high. Great product.Customer Review: Nitro ..NOT HARDLY

Well besides the fact that It took me over a monthe to get this item maybe i expected to much. Since it was sooo hard to find i thought it would do more. The games are okay, my son is 8. but the screen is hard to see it has to be at a certain angle. I was hoping that the screenwas color. I like the games but some of the games are too juvenile for my 8 y.o. Its asks question like what does Cat start with, etc..its a toss up, if i spent more than $38.67, i think i would be upset. (compliments of Walmart.com)..I personally think its for a younger crowd may be 6-9 year old. older kids like my son will be bored SOON!. ill just pass it to my 3y.o when shes about 4-5...happy holidays all!!!!Customer Review: VTech Nitro

This was a Cristmas present for my 5 year old son and he was all happy about having his own lap top but it only keeps him occupied for 10-15 minutes at a time. He does have access to a destop with games and educationals so this is a step down from that. I guess I should have looked into this further before buying. The 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" screen is also a bit tiny but for the price what can you expect? The educational material seems like it would be good for most in that age group but have to disagree with the lessons in Spanish. If this was to be exported to spanish speaking countries it should have a switch for english/spanish. That would leave more room for english speaking lessonsCustomer Review: 5 star expectation

I am expecting to give a 5 star review. I have not used this product yet. I just purchased it for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. She has been telling me that she wants the Easter Bunny to bring her a computer. Mommy works on a laptop all day and she is so interested in using my keyboard. I thought this looked like a real laptop and it should interest her as much as mine does. I have originally thought that this would be too advanced for her (ages 5 and up listed on my box), but after reading a few of the reviews it might just be the right challege that she needs.
