Customer Review: Absolute piece of junk

If you find your kid playing too much with your (expensive) camera or showing an interest in taking pictures, this is NOT the place to look. This product (and I assume all similar items) is not a camera, it is just an overpriced toy - a bad one at that.
Two major issues: this thing takes absolutely trash quality pictures, and the LCD screen is atrocious: small, dark and it looks as though it has no more than a handful of pixels.
The manufacturer could have done either of two things:
- skipped installing a screen and sensor and marketed this as a fake camera / toy, at a significantly lower price
- used a decent screen, sensor and processor to produce at least decent quality photos - I would not have minded paying 2-3 times more for such a product
As such, I feel cheated and wished I had saved the money for a tough build real P&S camera. Your kid may have fun while pretending to be taking pictures with this thing, but wait for the disappointment when he/she will want to see the pictures on the camera's LCD screen or once you transfered them on a computer.

I bought this for my 6 year old. She cant stop playing with it as soon as she received it. This is her favorite out of all the toys she got for Christmas. Camera features a voice recorder, video recorder and games. It doesn't take quality pictures however when she keeps her hand still, the photo is clear enough. Comes with a flash too.
She likes to play around with the pictures by adding frames or distorting images. Even my 10 year old enjoys using it. It stores many pictures and enough memory for video. It has a memory card slot. The camera grip is perfect for small hands to hold and the camera is really cute. LCD colors are clear and vivid.
It's user friendly, easy for kids to figure out and work with. Buttons are easy to press. Pictures and videos can be viewed directly on the computer or TV via use of a cable.
The only set back is that it is not rechargeable. It consumes batteries fast, it lasts for about a day or 2 when played constantly. Wish it came with a protective case too...
Over all : Amazing product! Great and Fun Toy! Worth it!

HAD to get this camera because my 3 1/2 year-old's new phase was taking pictures of EVERYTHING with my good digital camera. Couldn't go for that, but didn't want to squash the desire and the creativity.
The not-so-good: it's a bit big and the resolution is low (but for the price, you can't expect 8 megapixels!).
The good: it's got good sounds, feels durable, is easy to operate, and was reasonably priced. It's got some really well-thought-out features like tiny spring-operated doors that cover the USB connections and such. It also times off pretty quickly so it saves battery life when they just put it down and walk away (that never happens....). The ability to put more memory in is great.
My daughter didn't like the small screen compared to mine, but the option now is 'use yours or take no photos', so she's coping. Best of all, she loves telling me that it's her's and is off limits to me. I was disappointed because I was playing one of the games that comes on it....
All in all, a good and recommended purchase.

I bought two of these for my 5-1/2 year old and my 2-1/2 year old. Both kids love it. They filled the memory in no time. The picture were better than I expected from a kid's camera. We found the camera worked better without the flash as the flash is pretty broad and doesn't seem to shed light on the subject appropriately. My 5-1/2 year old found the games on the camera and loves playing those as well. The additional fun clip arts that can be used while taking pictures are fun for everyone. I even caught some adults taking pictures with the cameras. Great product. I only had one freeze up on me once and after removing and replacing the batteries it worked great and I have had no problems since. We did lose the pictures taken prior to this though. Both of my kids have really enjoyed these cameras and I have really enjoyed how rugged they are. I knew both would want one or they would be fighting and I couldn't justify spending money on a "real" camera that would be broken in no time by my 2-1/2 year old. My 4.5 year old daughter opened this present and thought it was a toy at first, but when she realized it was real, her face REALLY lit up. She figured out how to turn it on without any help and started taking pictures right away. The "OK" button on the back is easier for her to push to take the picture than the button on top, but it is nice to have the option. She also liked using the screen to center her pictures. It was a hit with all the cousins too-from ages 7 to 9. They all had fun trying the features that add cute frames or funny ears to the pictures. We love that it came with all the necessary cords and had everyone laughing when we hooked it up to the TV to show what the world looks like to a kid. The flash could be stronger-some of the pictures are too dark and the resolution isn't the greatest, but, hey, it is a KIDS' camera. I saw warnings that it burned through batteries, but with our old re-chargeable batteries we didn't have a problem. It is worth every penny we paid for it. She declared it the best present she ever got.
