It doesn't take much research on the web to determine that the V.smiles are systemically defective. It may hit you after months, or days, or in the case of my daughter on the morning of her birthday, hours--suddenly the unit will simply stop responding, won't turn on, or gets fuzzy video. The end result is crying children attempting to be consoled by parents that know they've been ripped off. It's amazing that they can continually put out a product that is this defective without being hit with some sort of class action suit.Customer Review: Buyer Beware!

My daughter received this a year ago. She has only used it a handful of times and we have taken very good care of it. It has recently stopped working for no apparant reason at all! The system will not turn on at all. I am so disappointed since we have so many games with it most of which are still in their original packaging! Due to the large number of complaints for this system I will not replace ours and will buy something else. Now I know it wasn't just one bum system that we were unlucky with. This product is designed for 3-7 year olds. It is not a playstation or an xbox. That said, both my 3 year old and 5 year old daughters love it. It is the only video game system they have ever had access too. My 5 year is able to figure out the games/controls quicker and really enjoys it more than my 3 year old at this point. We did have a problem where we couldn't get the unit to turn on, but tech support had me disconect all power and hold the on betton down for 50 seconds, after that it started working again.Customer Review: Great concept, poorly made (2nd purchase)

This is a great educational toy. My 4 year old twin boys loved it. It captured their attention for 2 hours at a time and they were learning alot. However, this is the second time I have purchased this item and it went dead in 2 months. I did all the trouble shooting and nothing worked. I am irritated because it's the second purchased and because I bought all the games to go with it and there's nothing to do with them. I've thought about buying the handheld, however, will it die in 2 months also?Customer Review: Save your money

I have gone through two vsmile consoles and one vsmile pocket. They have all broken down and stopped working within two months despite new batteries and and an adapter (which only worked once). In fact the vsmile pocket had only been played a few times and it stopped working within four weeks. The temptation is to buy another one because you bought the games. Well I am here to tell you, DON'T DO IT. It is money down the drain. Cut your ties and move on. It is a BIG waste of money.
