This was a first Murder Mystery party for me, and it was a lot of fun. My guests were all ladies and it was a blast. The game (with dinner) lasted about 4.5 hours. I didn't follow the menu suggestions, as it seemed to be too many new dishes for me.. I stuck to pasta that I was comfortable cooking. The "accusations" portion was a bit consfusing, but still went very well. I followed a lot of decorting ideas from other amazon reviewers. I highly recommned the "Mob Hits" CD for background music. Everyone dressed and acted their parts, we laughed all night. I cannot wait to host another!

We invited six suspects for a New Year's Eve party and our guests had a great time. The costumes for each character were easy and fun. Although the kit includes a menu, we decided to keep it really simple and asked each guest to bring something (appetizer, salad and dessert). We provided the main course and beverages. Our guests enjoyed their roles and played them to the hilt. This was our third murder mystery party game and we will definitely do another.Customer Review: A fun idea for a dinner party

Rather than prepare the suggested menu, everyone was assigned a dish with an Italian theme, that took alot of work off of the hostess. We all dressed in costume. Some people had real problems translating the third person descriptions into first person. If anyone wears reading glasses, make sure that they bring them! Overall, we had a great time, and are planning another one, looking for the Lethal Luau version for next time.Customer Review: Extra players

As hosts we were the extra players.
We read the scripts and knew what was going on.
The extra players should know who done it!
Our role was to jump in if things got slow.
To gently guide. To subtly teach.
To provide color commentary or just smooth things.
This aspect of our characters was not known to the other 6 players.
We all had a ball.

I bought this party set for my 12 year old's party. If you're uncomfortable with mild adult themes, don't buy it. But, it worked well for us and the girls had a blast. We decorated in an Italian theme and everyone dressed the part. We served sparkling grape juice in wine glasses and that was a great touch. The CD tells you exactly what to do and it was very easy to pull off.
