Toys and Games Reviews of Colorforms Activity Toys Original 60th Anniversary EditionCustomer Review: Fun and Educational Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased the Colorforms for my 6 year old boy for Christmas. It is a great educational and artistic toy (and QUIET). There are many small pieces though. Keeping track of them and making sure they get put back into the book is a must. One flaw with the product is that the two oversized heavyduty cardboard pieces that the Colorforms stick to (one is black, the other white) do not fit into the bound book that holds all of the Colorforms. The cardboard pieces are a few inches bigger. It would have been nice if it were all bound into the one book for ease when traveling.
Customer Review: Liked it! Summary: 5 Stars
My husband used to tell me about this toy all the time! I had never heard of it ever! But we made a pact, if we ever found it in a store for a resonable price we would buy it well we never did. So we searched for it, hard to find... until you looked on here! This toy is great! It's opened ended creativity which is wonderful. I'd say the only down side is my daughter has a hard time getting the shapes off the paper (she is 5) and times my husband and I did as well. I think after we use them again and again it'll be easier. All in all I would recomend this to any one!
Customer Review: THIS is Colorforms Summary: 5 Stars
What is being sold today in stores as Colorforms bears little resemblance to the original Colorforms set. The original Colorforms has 5 large pages of heavy-duty vinyl shapes in a spiral binder, each page a different color. The Colorforms stick very well to the 2 boards included in the set, and children (and adults!) can spend hours transforming the shapes into pictures. The original Colorforms set is pricey but will last a lot longer than today's Colorforms (which seem to lose their stickiness after only a few uses) and really sparks a child's imagination.
Customer Review: Wow- flashback!... Summary: 5 Stars
I played with this when I was a kid and that was a long time ago!(1960) This was my first Colorforms set! Then I got the Little Miss Weather, then Cinderella with the Fairy Godmothers, which I don't see here but that's ok, I'm just glad I could remember that! GI Joe & Hulk for older my sons in the 70's & 80's. I found the Little Miss Weather for my daughter back in the early '90s so I bought it for her and she loved it. Colorforms is a basically a classic toy that creates a picture into a form of art that every generation would enjoy!
Customer Review: stick it on the right material! Summary: 5 Stars
i read the reviews of folks disappointed with the adhesive quality of the provided boards and i have to agree, the shapes don't stick very well to them. HOWEVER, my five yo grandson and i stick the shapes to my picture window. They stick great AND we have a huge "canvas" to work with. This is a wonderful, imaginative toy - we've built cities and parks; animals, cars, "Transformers", and outer space "stuff" - sometimes all on the same window, at the same time! We love it!
