Customer Review: Great for storytelling!

It is true, it only works with batteries, and darkness is needed to see it reflected in the wall, but my two daughters (must say 3 and 10) LOVE to use it at night before sleep, great for bed stories about rainbow, fairies, etc. For us it is totaly worth (I am thinking in buying the second one, since they start to sleep in different rooms and both NEED it at night).

My 2 year old requests 'renbow' every night with a singing of the Captain Noah song, it's now part of our routine! Very cool nightlight, wish I had one as a kid...Customer Review: It was not what I expected--very cheaply made and the rainbow hardly shows up, even in the dark.

Very small and not a true colored rainbow representation, just reflected colored lights off a piece of silver tape. Not very bright and very small arch. I put it in a small corner area. Does not stay on as a night light either.

This toy is pretty cool in that it projects a rainbow on the wall across the room. A few disappointments, however, make it not worth the price that I've seen charged. First of all, it really only works in a darkened room, which does make it fun for a nightlight. There is an auto-off feature so it wouldn't last all night, however. Second, this thing eats batteries! It takes 4 AAA batteries and we replace them at a ridiculous rate. Third, I expected this to be some type of prism that separated the light colors to aid in the educational value. No, it's just colored lights that reflect off a mirrored base.
It's cool and my daughter really loves hers, but I wouldn't pay more than $20-25 for it considering the rate in which it goes through batteries.

Kid's are always in awe of seeing rainbows. So one day while talking with a kid, they expressed the desire to have a rainbow in their bedroom. Well, as you guessed it. I purchased the rainbow for their bedroom. And now, they're very happy. "Grant A Wish"
