Customer Review: Complicated Lava

My son is five and has just started school where he learned about volcanoes so Santa decided this would be the perfect gift for him! The assembly is easy, love easy assembly. The biggest problem with this is the directions were unclear. It has 3 or 4 different recipes for the lava but it's a little complicated figuring out what goes where and how they all mix to create the "flow". The complicated part is that there are three test tubes on the back that hold all the ingredients and they are not connected in any way so what we ran into was that the flow only came from one area of the volcano. I know it's a little old for a 5 year old but there were 3 adults and one teenager and none of us could get it to work properly. It turned out being a disappointment for us and my son.
