Toys and Games Reviews of Star Wars Science - Dagobah Frog Habitat

Customer Review: Great fun, lots of learning!
Summary: 5 Stars

Got this for my 5 yr old son for Easter. We went out and bought 2 tadpoles and food at a local pet shop. (Cost us $6 for everything) We were able to immediately add the tadpoles to the habitat since we had room temp bottled water already in there. It is pretty easy to maintain the habitat. Clean the tank once a week, adding all new fresh room temp bottled water. The tadpoles seem pretty happy in there. My kids (ages 5 and 2) love watching them grow. One of our tadpoles is growing legs now. Very interesting! Very educational for my son. We love it!

Customer Review: 2 dead tadpoles
Summary: 1 Stars

I am writing this because tomorrow I will have to tell my son his second tadpole has died. We bought one from the pet store and it died. We decided to order the one that they suggest in the kit. It is dead. The tadpoles never really developed beyond a couple sprouts where legs should have come. I'd be interested to know if anyone's tadpole has survived and how. We changed the water at least once a week, and my son dutifully fed it per the directions.

The idea is very cute, and we loved the Dagobah theme. I wish it had worked out better.

Customer Review: Star Wars and Frogs - boys will love it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered this during Amazon's big toy sale. What a value - I only paid $14.98 plus free two day shipping with my prime membership. I have not ordered the frogs yet, but the aquarium looks really cool...my son is going to love it when he opens it for Christmas. I also got the sea creatures version for his friends at school - they are going to love this as well. I wish I had purchased more of the frog habitats while they were still on sale and sold directly by Amazon - they would have made excellent gifts. I am so excited for my son to open it up.

Customer Review: plan on spending an additional $10 to $15 on tadpoles.
Summary: 3 Stars

It's really just a plastic box with graphics taped on and a couple tank decorations. You still have to go out and buy the tadpoles, or get your "free" ones from them, but you have to pay shipping that costs as much as buying them at a fish store; then you have to get information on how to care for them and feed them, since it isn't included. I was disappointed. I had purchased it for a gift, but when I saw what it was, I was embarrassed to give it as a gift and kept it for my grandson.

Customer Review: Only buy this for a child you hate
Summary: 1 Stars

after spending $26 for a plastic tank with a picture taped on the back, you must spend an addition $14 for two tadpoles.
They tell you to expect "shipping shock" meaning they swim erratically or don't swim at all for up to three days.
One of ours never recovered, in other words, this has been a lesson in death for my 6 year old.
You are better off catching tadpoles in a local stream or buying from a pet store.
