In the tradition of our favorite family game "Authors" of many years, "Scientists" is both fun to play & a good learning experience for all ages.
As in the classic, "Authors" where in playing the game, players learn classical authors and some of their famous books, in this game, each learns some outstanding accomplishments of famous scientists while just playing a fun game.
Unlike the present fixation on video games which isolates a player, this card game is designed for two or more players & communication is part of the game. Competition ensues as each player tries to amass the most sets of 4 cards of each scientist's accomplishments and it's surprising what one learns. When we have family gatherings, typically after a great dinner, everyone gravitates to "game time"...and the various games of Authors, Scientists, Childrens Authors, Famous Women, etc. are usually more popular than most of the board games, and one doesn't tire of it. In this time of limited conversation interchange, we find this game delightful whether between two older people, or our grandchildren of about 8 years old (or older), or a mixture of all ages.
Perhaps placing such games in the "Toy" category is the only choice, but unless one knows & searches for a specific title of one of these educational games, they might well miss the opportunity of ever knowing that such a fun & educational game exists!
Incidentally the card quality is very nice as well...
