I bought this set for my homeschooling kindergardener. I looked at many, many sets and finally settled on this one, and am quite glad that I did. We start school every day with the Pledge and weather observations. We then come inside to record our weather observations (great b/c it gets him to observe graphing and trends already), and filling in the calender. I like that we can put the numbers up one day at a time to reinforce number recognition, months of the year, days of the week and so forth. In my opinion, this set is just right for a kindergardener, covering the basics that need to be addressed. The durability is ok, but for the cost, I won't mind if I have to buy a new calender set in 2-3 years. If I was really concerned about it I would have laminated the set and then put velcro on the numbers and calender. Oh, and most importantly, my son loves recording the weather and updating the calender every day! He is beginning to understand the concepts of days/weeks/months/years.Customer Review: Fantastic but could be more durable

I got this to start teaching my toddler. I had it laminated, ONLY because we live in Indonesia and can't get a new calendar every year. I wouldn't recommend laminating it... you can buy numerous calendars with the money you would spend laminating one. Its pretty sturdy, as long as you keep it out of your child's reach, or teach him/her to respect it.
My son and I have really enjoyed going through the days of the week each day. It has a great variety of holidays. I wish it included Canadian holidays as my son is dual citizen. But I plan on making them myself and adding it to the set.
For the price I paid, and the enjoyment and education my son is getting from it - this is a great product.

This has been a good set to use with my son's preschool coop. However, it needs to be laminated to be durable. I put the calendar on a foam core backing and even that is showing signs of "love." If I were to look for a large scale, educational calendar again. I wouldn't buy this one again. I would pay for the more expensive canvas wall calendars used by many preschools. This one would be great for a bulletin board, but its not very good for encouraging child to manipulate the pieces.Customer Review: CALENDAR

EVERYONE COMPLIMENTS MY CALENDAR B/C OF THE SIMPLICITY AND SMALL SIZE.
IT WORKS WELL WITH MY SPECIAL ED KIDS B/C THE SIZE IS NOT OVERWHELMING, THE DAYS OF THE WEEK AND MONTHS OF THE YEAR ARE NOT GAUDY WITH A MILLION DIFFERENT COLORS AND/OR DESIGNS. THIS IS A NICE, SIMPLE INEXPENSIVE CALENDAR FOR MY KIDS. THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THAT YOU HAVE TO LAMINATE IT, OR ELSE IT WONT STAND UP TO TIME. I HAD MINE LAMINATED AT KINKO'S.

I ordered this calendar and received in a matter of days. This is my first year teaching and I use it in my classroom. Each morning my Kindergarten class loves answering what day of the week it is, so I can place the correct day on the board. It also is very helpful with them answering what day is yesterday and tomorrow. The calendar is very colorful and the quality is GREAT!
