Customer Review: Good luck getting the balls through the holes!

This toy is good in theory, but terrible in practice. The holes on top are way too small to accommodate the balls without some major banging. My 8y.o. can do it, but my 5 y,o. can't, so forget about my 1 y.o. ever being able to play with this by herself. And that major banging that's required? It's LOUD! It drove me so crazy hearing my 8 y.o. hammering away (she was the only one who liked this toy) that I'm returning it to the store.
There are much better ball toys out there. Skip this one.

My son is 13 months old and figured out how to pound the balls in with the hammer, which does require quite a bit of effort. It's fun for a few minutes, and then he's ready to move on, so I wouldn't really recommend it.
The real reason I wouldn't recommend it is because he was able to fit one of the balls in his mouth and he couldn't get it out. Luckily, we were there and my husband was able to get it out, but it definitely scared him and us and we immediately put the toy away.

I had so many problems with this that I through it away. Buy another pounding toy. The problems were as follows:
1. The top part and the tray aren't connectedat all. The top just sits on the tray, which creates storage problems and makes the toy unstable.
2. You practically have to be a body builder to get the balls in the holes. I could hardly do it, let alone my small children.
3. The balls don't stay in the toy well and go everywhere.
Don't buy this one.

This toy is amazing, my son recieved it for his first birthday. He is now turning 2 and it is STILL one of this favorite toys. Every kid that enters my house plays with this toy. It is very easy they can even hit it with their hand if the hammer isn't around. I did however wonder how i would clean this once some dirt had built up inside...but i solved that easily...i just ran it under the faucet and it cleaned up great. And this toy has been banged around with no cracks at all!Customer Review: Fun for kids, pain for parents

First let me say that my one year old LOVES this toy. My mom bought it for him about a month ago because he loves to bang things. At first, it was tough for him because you have to hit it quite hard, but within a day
he was a pro. The problem is that the base isn't too stable and comes off easily. Also, I am constantly chasing and searching for the balls. We are now down to 2. It's been a great toy for us, but I don't think it's for everyone.
