Toys and Games Reviews of Hello Kitty Sticker MakerCustomer Review: Worthless except that the child liked it Summary: 1 Stars
first, the product comes with only one clip on side compartment even though there are slots for two. then, when you finally set up this piece of garbage, the stickers are shoddy at best. the clear overlay is effectively packing tape. the sheet of sticker cutouts is cute but too intricate for the 41/2 year old i gave this to to cut out. (her 6 yr old sister wasn't even able to do it with the awful scissors that come with the set. unless you set up the stickers back to back (which means the kids have to keep playing with this and wait for their own sticker to come out) you waste 3" of the already small roll of sticker tape each time you make a sticker. Also, the area where you design stickers is recessed and way to small, even for a 4 years old's tiny fingers. Plus, the stencil that comes with it doesn't fit anywhere near there making all but unusable. Plus, some of the stencil shapes are too small to use with the provided crayons. Because of these limitations, the sticker creation was limited to sticking a piece of paper down the chute for it to come out crooked and wrinkly on the other end. the crayons were awful anyway and so waxy that even when she did try to draw on the 2" platform, the colors barely showed up. the stamp that comes with it would be cute if you didnt have to pull out your precision levelling tool to get it to come out neatly. The "card" component- basically these are 5 2"x3" pieces of paper. not even sure how to use them. since it seems like they would jam up the machine unless you unloaded all the tape first. If you didn't, the card would consist of sticker paper with backing on the bottom, the card, the pieces of paper used to decorate the card, and the packing tape top coat. the problem with this is that the tape barely covers the edges so the card-sticker mess would not hold together. My niece does like it. If she were any older she's be annoyed and disappointed too.
Customer Review: refill found Summary: 3 Stars
[...]
It appears that the kit includes more white cards, another sheet of Hello Kitty paper, a roll of clear tape and sticker tape. The rolls of tape are the same size that the sticker maker originally came with. [...]
My 5 year old loves this toy. It does waste a lot of tape so to conserve materials, we just make all of the stickers and crank them through at one time. Some of the stickers crinkle a little but since this is a toy neither my daughter, her friends, nor myself are expecting professional results. I am disappointed two fold that the tape and sticker paper refill rolls appear to be the same miniscule amounts provided with the original toy along with the shipping being more expensive than the refill item itself. If anyone has found a source that sells generic rolls of clear tape and sticker paper that fit this toy please post your findings.

Customer Review: Disappointing Summary: 2 Stars
My 4-year-old bought this with a Christmas gift certificate. It looked like fun on the box and sounded like it came with a lot of accessories. It turns out all the "machine" does is tape Hello Kitty pictures onto label tape. While my girls had lots of fun making the stickers, all of the supplies were gone within a few hours. Also, the labels seemed to be of poor quality. Half of the time, when the girls peeled the backing off, the sticky part came off as well and we had to tape the stickers on with masking tape. There was no information on ordering additional supplies, but I doubt I would want to buy more tape anyway. This is one of the more disappointing toys I've ever seen.
Customer Review: Not well designed Summary: 2 Stars
My daughter purchased this with her own money. Looks very neat, but a sticker making machine from any scrapbook store functions much better. Rather than applying the adhesive to the back of the material being sent through the machine, a clear plastic layer is applied to the top, and stuck to another paper layer on the bottom. Thus one needs to ensure that there is a border left around the sticker created to keep the top layer adhered to the bottom layer. Very poorly designed. I have also not been able to locate any replacement materials, so the machine becomes useless in short order.
