Toys and Games Reviews of Amazing AmandaCustomer Review: This toy is not worth the money. Summary: 3 Stars
This toy would be good, I suppose in some cases where the child has a loud voice and speaks clearly at the proper time to speak which is after the toy has completely finished talking. In our case it did not recognize or hear my daughters voice most of the time. That although was not my major issue, my major issue is that the batteries 3 C Energizer Max, new, were dead within 24 hrs of purchasing the toy and placing batteries in it. On top of that every time you replace the batteries or if the doll gets turned off, you have to reprogram the doll with in my case 5 year old daughter over and over. So in our case I will returning the doll, in which my daughter is sad telling Amanda she will miss her so now she is grieving the loss of the doll, but I can't see paying almost 100.00 for a doll that needs batteries replaced so often and then to be reprogrammed every time.
Customer Review: What a shame! Amanda is NOT amazing! She is over priced! Summary: 1 Stars
All my little girl wanted for Christmas was Amazing Amanda. Well she got her and what a huge waste of money Amanda was. Her lip paint came off in less that 5 hours of play time. Her eyes are STRANGE and she repeats herself over and over. The set up is a nightmare. The doll does not call my daughter MOMMY she says " you don't sound like my mommy, when will she be back". My daughter has cried over the fact that the doll will NOT call her Mommy!!! She says I need to potty and before you can even get up she says "I am sorry I had an accident". The clothes are cheap the velcro closures are sharp and sticky. I would say DO NOT BY THIS TOY!!!!!!! We all want our kids to be happy but this toy is a true nightmare. Forget calling the company-- they already have your money so they are not going to help you at all. You are better off to buy baby Annabelle-- She is a DREAM Doll.
Customer Review: The Stupidet thing out there!! Summary: 1 Stars
Ok, first off to say: This toy is too overpriced!! $100 for something that doesn't even work!! This thing can't recognize your voice!! It's sucks up the batteries life and its annoying!!Also, this is the creepiest thing out there!! I'd be afraid to have it sleep in my room and stare at me all night. It may just start singing and we'll be calling the police because this thing will be scaring me to death!! I'd also like to recomend that you should get things such as stuffed animals since other kids may have a strong imagination to make up something better than this weird stupid doll!! Or get them good books to read, such as Harry Potter, or the Warriors series books or the Chronicles of Narnia. These are books I've personally enjoyed. Or, (I'm not shure) introduce them to Neopets. The site is a great experience and its actually useful for education: www.neopets.com
Customer Review: "Say my name, mommy" Summary: 1 Stars
My five year-old daughter just had to have this doll for Christmas. Santa left it for her. I set it up with my daughter's voice, but it never recognizes her. It constantly demands "Say my name, MOMMY." My poor daughter loyally repeats Amanda's name, only to hear the heartbreaking "You don't sound like Mommy." This doll is so frustrating that it has spent 10 months sitting in my daughter's room. She saw an ad for the doll, and pulled her out again- only to be frustrated once more. In theory, it is a cool concept, but hardly worth the disappointment on your child's face. It is completely unfair to spend $100 on a doll that just makes your kid sad. To those of you that have to watch your money, I would really think twice before buying this. My daughter was much happier with her dolls that are not interactive. We are all very disappointed in this product.
Customer Review: Broke the first day Summary: 3 Stars
We found these dolls on clearance at abig toy store and had to get one for our daughter who LOVES to play mommy. But we couldnt turn it on because the toy really is creepy and scared her. she is a little young for the toy so we decided to keep it but turned off (as long as it doesnt move and talk to her she loves it) until she is older but the first night she slept with it the rubber on the foot cracked and broke of. we are taking it back today but we are going to get a new one and give it another go!
After looking at the other reviews it seems to be one of those toys that are great if they work but alot of them dont! if you get one just keep your receipt incase you have to replace it one or two or three times!
Also to beat frustration i recorded all the words my daughter needed to talk to amanda and programmed it at night before i gave it to her!
