After reading the reviews, I bought this thinking it would be a fun toy, but that there probably wouldn't be much variety in the settings-- but that's not what I've experienced at all... there's plenty of variety! You can have your voice sound like:
low pitch
high pitch
very low pitch
very high pitch
normal + robotic
low pitch + robotic
very high pitch + robotic
amplified normal voice with high pitch
amplified normal voice
robotic with high pitch
And I've tried each of these settings: they do sound different from one another, and match the descriptions just fine.
I bought this for my 3-year-old daughter for Christmas because she loves Alvin and the Chipmunks, and I thought this would be a fun way for her to approximate their voices, but now I see that she's going to love it for even more than that. Now she can also sound like a robot, or a villain... great toy for the price. I can't comment yet on durability, but will update this review if I have a problem.
