Customer Review: Gorgeous figure, but those darn breakable swords!

Ya gotta love these 7 inch Movie Maniacs figures. They were brilliant! I still can't believe how few I have, even now, but I'll get more. Even with McFarlane's mastery at the helm though, they're not perfect. Case in point: "Evil Ash". This beautifully detailed, highly accurate looking figure is a great display piece with only two problems. One: he has basically only one pose. Okay, I can live with that. You have to work with his feet to balance him into the pose too, but no big. The real problem is issue number two: those darn breakable accessories! I swear, I have lost count at how many times I've had to superglue one of Ash's swords back together again! It's in at least three pieces as I type this. So, I'll superglue it together, and it'll be okay until the next time he gets knocked out of balance, which hopefully won't be for a long while, but it is very frustrating, and I have had the same problem with the blade of normal Ash's chainsaw. Oh, well. Other than that, this figure is simply a must-have. I have never seen detail like this before, aside from the Muppets action figures. I realize I'm always praising the Muppets figures from Palisades, but the detail here is just as good (granted, the Muppets don't have parts break off as often and are more poseable, but...). It's worth the frustration of having to superglue things now and then. The figure comes with a little "Army of Darkness" movie poster in a Movie Maniacs stand for a shared display, though it's really not all that great of an accessory and I just have my poster stored away somewhere.
