I find these reviews very helpful from other customers but this item seemed to have mixed reviews so I was a little concerned what I was going to get. I have a 3 year old who loves all things dinosaur so he's not real picky about quality or variety as long as it is a dinosaur. For him, durability is important and quantity is important. He has some dinosaurs that are 2X bigger than this and some that were cupcake toppers at a birthday party that are only one inch. He loves them all so I took a chance on these and received them two days ago. My husband and I were like kids at Christmas so we opened up the box to see what we received. It's a good little set at a good price. We received 12 dinos, we have at least two identical t-rex dinos which will not slow my little dino tracker down one bit, but we have a good variety and they are durable. They are a bit smaller than my hand if I make a fist and they are labeled on the bottom although it's a bit tough to read. I had to shine a flashlight on some of them to be able to read it but that's not much of an inconvenience, they're no more difficult to read than the labels on the bottoms of his matchbox cars. They are colorful, not brightly colored but good colors and I haven't noticed any strange odors. All in all I am very happy with what I received and looking forward to the reaction of my little dino tracker at Christmas.Customer Review: Great buy

I got these dinosaurs as a stocking stuffer for my 2 year old daughter. She loves them. There were 12 unique dinosaurs each stamped with the name on the belly (above the "Made in China" mark). I was a little wary of the other reviews that said there were duplicates, but we got 12 different kinds: tyrannosaurus rex, ceratosaurus, pacycephalosaurus, velociraptor, parasaurolophus, spinosaurus, triceratops, styracosaurus, euoplocepalus, stegosaurus, brachiosaurus, and apatosaurus. There are some minor flaws, like the velociraptor not having feathers, the spinosaurus has too blunt of a head, and the ceratosaurus missing the "hornlets" over the eyes, but, in all, these are the images of the dinosaurs we grew up with as children.
Because they are all approximately the same size, many of them can be confused at first glance as being the same. The T Rex, velociraptor, and the ceratosaurus look very much alike at first, as do the triceratops and styracosaurus, and the brachiosaurus and the apatosaurus. I wonder if these similarities may account for the frequent "found 4 duplicates" in other reviews.
In all, these are great toys for little kids wanting to play with dinosaurs. I wouldn't use them to teach a class on paleontology, though.

I'd been looking for a set of dinosaurs for my recently turned 2-year-old, who is just getting into "Dinos". All I could find in the stores were either too small (put-in-the-mouth size) or too large to tote around for car/air travel, restaurants, etc. Thank heavens for Amazon! I wasn't sure about ordering sight unseen, but took a chance based on the description and customer reviews. My son and I couldn't be happier! He was so excited to open the package. He couldn't believe how many were in there ("Bunch mommy, bunch Dinos!"). I am very pleased with their sizes and also the durable plastic from which they are made. This was just what I was looking for. And the price is perfect! I would recommend these for any dino-loving toddler.Customer Review: Excellent set of dinos!

My 2 year old son is a dino-freak, just loves dinos of all sizes. Bought these for his b-day and he plays with them every day. Very durable, excellent size and variety. I would say the educational value is there as well because my son can actually identify almost all of them by name and say them as well... most adults can't even do this! I'll give credit to the dinos for that one as they have the name on the bottom of them to help us adults. :)
Only thing I wouldn't recommend doing with them is joining in on bath time. They're solid but do have a very small, almost non-visible hole in them that water can enter... and they will fill up slowly. Very difficult to get the water out. :)
Highly recommended.

Both my boys (ages 3 and 2)love dinosaurs. Bought this set as stocking stuffers. The size of each piece is just right, although tails and horns are a little pointy. I mention this as caution; having these things thrown around or fought over is inevitable so there is the chance that someone could get poked or hurt in the process. The labels in the body of each dinosaur is a nice feature but somewhat hard to discern. Overall, very pleased I ordered this set. P.S. As noted in previous posts, my order came with 12 different types of dinosaurs and the "plastic smell" was not at all noticeable. Still, I gave the toys a little disinfecting wash before putting them in the stockings.
