Customer Review: Wonderful, especially for very young babies

Our 15 week old had enjoyed this toy since the day it arrived. Before she was reaching, she enjoyed looking at "the baby in the turtle's belly." It was this toy that encouraged her to reach. It is now encouraging her attempts at rolling. We rearrange the toys often and it's easy to do. Although it sounds strange, the Gymini also makes a wonderful setting for baby photos. You can get on the floor and take photos of the baby playing or stand over it and get pictures of those early smiles (when she's distracted by toys and not your camera). Also the colorful background is very cute in photos. Probably not thought of as a selling point but it's true ;)
It also keeps my baby's interest for plenty of time for me to put in a load of laundry, have lunch, etc. It's easily stored in a small amount of space (unlike the few other large-scale toys she has) and since we have a dog, it's nice to have a play mat that stays clean of pet treat crumbs and dog hair.
I would recommend this as a toy to buy either before the baby comes or shortly after. There aren't many toys suitable from birth but this is a great one.

My 5 week old son loves this product. He likes to be held a lot and it's the only place I can put him down for any length of time. He LOVES looking at the hanging toys and bright colors.This activity gym comes with 5 hanging toys: octopus, whale, rainbow (with a rattle in it), seahorse (which plays music), and turtle (with a mirror on the bottom so baby can see himself). Plus you can purchase additional toys and hang them from the extra spaces. We haven't done that yet, but we intend to if he starts to get bored with the ones that are there. The floor mat is nicely padded, although since we have hard tile floors we also keep a blanket underneath for a little extra cushioning. The mat also includes 2 lift up flaps, one that makes a crinkling sound and another that squeaks when you squeeze it, for additional sensory stimulation. I love the bright colors which are good for baby's visual development, and the fact that the toys can be positioned so they are in reach of his random movements, which is good for teaching him cause and effect of his movements.

I bought this mat for my son when he was 3 months old; I wanted something soft for him to lie on since we have hardwood floors. I liked that it was awarded toy of the year last year and that it's multi-colored rather than red, white and black. At three months about all my son did was look at the dangling toys, but then he began to focus on the different toys, batting and pulling at them. I even bought additional rings to hang other toys he likes, rotating them so he doesn't get bored. At 6 months he often looks at it, wanting to "go to the gym". I like the way the mat folds easily, we took it with us to visit our cat-owning family over the holidays so he'd have a familiar and cat hair-free place to play. We did need to put more padding under it (over the wooden floors) - especially now that he's on his tummy and occasionally drops his head. I wish it were a bit larger now that he's squirming and turning. People who have seen it think it's great and wish they'd had something like it for their children.Customer Review: The best toy ever!

The Gymini is absolutely our favorite toy! My daughter, currently 5 months old, has been playing with it for months and still loves it! My husband and I joke that we can't leave home without it and always take it with us to the grandparents' houses and friends' houses. The toys are bright, colorful, and durable. My daughter's favorite is the "octopus." Since the toys are detachable, I bring the octopus in my diaper bag so she can play with it in her car seat and even when we were on an airplane last month! The mat is great too; because it's also colorful, my daughter has something to look at when she's on her tummy. My daughter will lie on the mat for a long time reaching out to the toys, grabbing them and holding them in her hands. I think what I like the best about this product is that there isn't anything that can really break. So many other baby products have already broken but the Gymini seems brand new still. I highly recommend it as a gift; ours was a gift from a friend whose son loved it too!Customer Review: Excellent toy for young babies!

My daughter is one that likes to be held all the time, which doesn't allow much time for her mom to get anything done around the house! When she was almost 2 mos. old, I searched for an activity gym to occasionally entertain her and bought this one due to the great reviews for it. At first, she didn't like being out of my arms and fussed when I put her under the gym, but I persisted slowly, sitting with her on the floor and playing with the toys so she could see what they did. Now at almost 3 mos., she loves it! She will actually stay under it for 1-2 hours at a time, batting at and grasping for the toys. She even has "conversations" with them! Even though the Gymini Deluxe comes with 5 toys, I purchased several others singly in order to rotate them. But I definitely recommend the deluxe model over the regular model since it doesn't come with as many toys, and it ends up being more expensive to purchase additional ones individually. All in all, the Gymini is worth every penny!
