Toys and Games Reviews of ThinkFun ZingoCustomer Review: My Kids' Favorite game! Summary: 5 Stars
My 4.5 year old daughter and 2.5 year old son love this game - they play it together all the time. I like that it works well across the age span. Each loves to take their turn dispensing the tiles and the older one often helps out the younger when he's not so quick to notice a tile that matches his card. I agree with another reviewer -- it would be better if the tiles were printed on both sides for ease of reloading. But my kids have found that they like to reload while they're playing, but putting any non-matching tiles right back into dispenser on the spot. This makes for much easier clean up at the end of the game. Definitely recommend this game!!!!
Customer Review: We just LOVE this game Summary: 5 Stars
We purchased Zingo for my daughter after she had played it at a party. This is now our "go-to" game. My daughter LOVES it. And, even better it will grow with her. She just turned 4 and can't read yet, but can recognize pictures and call out the appropriate name. As she learns to read this game will still be great to play. This is now our gift at many a birthday party. And, all the parents I have spoken with just think it is fantastic.
I think the only downside of this game is when older children play it with younger sibilings - the reaction times vary so it might pose some challenges. However, I still highly recommend it.
Customer Review: So much fun! Summary: 4 Stars
My son, who just turned three, loves this game! He's learned a few new words, but the best part is that it's a game the whole family can play together. Some of the characters are a little odd - the ghost, for instance. My son had no idea what it was or what it was supposed to be. Parents will need to explain some of the images, but I think that just adds to a learning play time.
The only drawback has been that when the red sliding case is full of the Zingo tiles, it keeps getting stuck and it becomes hard to slide it forward to release two new tiles. Sometimes one will slide out and the other will get stuck mid-way through.
Customer Review: Great fun for many ages. Summary: 5 Stars
This game has been surprisingly fun! Finally a game that my 4 year old and my 8 year old can play together on an equal playing field. It does take luck more than skill to be successful at this game but it helps to have a quick eye- in that way, it is only mildly competitive, so it's good for preschoolers who are working on being good losers. No reading required. Would be good for autistic or other special needs kids- as it is mostly picture matching, no language, and the directions are simple. Also, this would be a good game for grandparents to have at their house, it is compact and the fun doesn't soon run out.
Customer Review: Good Thinking - It Really is Fun! Summary: 5 Stars
Great game for young children! We bought it Christmas 2008 & play it with out 3 year old and our 7 year old and they love it (and can play with each other). Simple to teach to the kids because of the pictures, for the non-readers, and a great way to add to the frequency & recognition of the printed words for early readers. For adults playing the game, it isn't nearly as repetitive (quickly boring) as many kids games. The game boards are thick and Zingo pieces are sturdy plastic. The only minor problem we had with it is the little foam "feet" pads on the bottom of the unit all came off(not really needed anyway).
