Toys and Games Reviews of ThinkFun ZingoCustomer Review: Zingo: Bingo with Lingo Summary: 5 Stars
Perfection for early elementary kids! Even my 2.5 year old loves this game. Just glancing through the previous reviews I have again noticed that some parents expect board games to prepare their kids for college level learning...people, let's just have fun; our kiddos are going to be fourteen before we know it. Hey, don't get me wrong- the word i.d. deal reeled me in, too, but then the fun factor just kinda took over. Don't even get me started on the set-up subject (please see my review on "The Honey Bee Tree" game). The above toddler loves attempting to put back the tiles- it keeps her busy, and I can enter La-La Land for several minutes. Note: there is an open groove in the tile holder to facilitate the actual tile placement, so if you are not a Yeti, obtain this game.
Customer Review: We love Zingo! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great game, fun for all ages. I got it from target on sale for nine dollars. It's well worth it. The pieces are durable. We play this game every day before bedtime. It has become a part of bedtime routine for our DS. Another great thing is it's a quick game, which makes it even more fun for children who get bored quickly.
I would suggest you to be careful with the picture tiles though. They can get lost very quickly if you don't put them away right after the game is over. We made the mistake of letting our son play with them on the sofa and the pieces slipped down the corners and it was quite difficult to get them out. We had to turn the sofa upside down to get the tiles. At least we knew where they were!
Customer Review: An excellent game for preschoolers and up, fun for the whole family! Summary: 5 Stars
We got this game for our daughter last year [she was 3] and we love it! Based on Bingo, Zingo basically has sturdy cardboard cards that have a 3 by 3 grid with pictures and words. The cards are double-sided, the green sides are for an easier play [for younger children] ,and the red sides are for more competitive play. The plastic tiles are well-made and so is the plastic dispenser [for revealing the tiles]. Younger children need not have reading skills as the pictures can help them play the game just as well - however having the words beneath the pictures reinforces learning for those who can't yet read.
All in all, this is an immensely engaging and enjoyable game for younger children and the whole family.
Customer Review: ages 3-70! Great family game! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this game for my 3 yo daughter, because she loves playing with our "SmartMouth" game, which is the same format (it uses letter tiles, instead of pictures). We have already played it several times since she got it for Christmas, and just lastnight we played with Grandma, Grandpa, myself and my husband. We all had a really great time, and it's basically just a matter of paying attention and being quick enough to call out your "tile" if you have it on your card (like Bingo). She has even played this with her older boy cousins (ages 4 & 6) who enjoyed it as well (they usually prefer Transformers and more electronic games). I bought this on sale, but would definitely pay full price for it :)
Customer Review: Great Toy for Toddlers Summary: 4 Stars
Got this toy for our 3 year old initially since it was a game he could play on his own (i.e. without mommy or daddy having to hold his hand). It has proven out to be just that, picture matching is something right up his alley. What we didn't expect was how well our 9 year old boy and 6 year old girl would get into it. They both love to play this game as its very engaging and competitive. The nice thing about this game is its card delivery. Its very easy even the 3 year old can be in charge. The slider is very easy to use and moves freely with barely any effort. The tiles are also solidly made and won't break or ware out.
Overall this is a fantastic game for young and old.
