Toys and Games Reviews of ThinkFun Rush HourCustomer Review: a well-designed all-ages game Summary: 5 Stars
This game is simple to explain, fun to play for all ages, adaptable to multiple skill levels and designed well -- what more could you ask. Opening the box you'll find a set of plastic cars of varying length, a deck of 40 cards that give layouts for the cars that vary from fairly simple to dastardly. Once you set up the miniatures as depicted, the player's task is to move the cars until a path is cleared for the target car to escape the gridlock. The game is well designed -- it includes a tray to hold the cards and a bag for the cars when not in use; also, a card holder lets you display the current puzzle. Very nicely done!
Customer Review: When a traffic jam on the expressway isn't enough... Summary: 5 Stars
This is a fun game for all ages. The early levels are simple enough for even younger children to play and win. The later levels can be quite a challenge for adults! The object of the game is to get the red car out of traffic and into the clear. Each scenario is different and there are additional packs of cards available from the manufacturer (when you finish the expert level). For those of us who get frustrated easily, the answer key is on the back of each card. This is a game that can be played alone or in a group (try using a timer to see who finishes a card first). It helps to teach how to think in a logical fashion.
Customer Review: Great product! Summary: 5 Stars
I knew this product before I ordered it, so there were no surprises. It is a great game for kids and adults alike and
keeps us occupied for hours.
This is a game for one person, and it is a game of logic, a puzzle of sorts. It has several levels of difficulty, and is just plain fun, as well as challenging at times.
We first saw the game when a visiting relative brought it with him to occupy time on the airplane. Everyone wanted to do it, so we decided that we should purchase one, also. Now, everytime someone comes to visit, the game is discovered and new converts
are made.
Customer Review: This game is way cool Summary: 5 Stars
This is truly a great game. While the age level is 8+, I found that my six year old loves it. It has multiple skill levels and additional puzzle cards are avaliable, if and when you ever get bored. While it is a single player game for the most part, it is fun to time each other for competition or you can also work as a team on the harder puzzles. My only complaint is the box which serves as storage could be a little nicer or perhaps designed to make it easier to store away (all the pieces have to be aligned just right in order to get it back in the box!). It's also great on trips! END
Customer Review: A Terrific Game Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not sure if there's a correlation, but my high-school daughter wants to be an engineer, and this was one of her favorite games! You can read the game specifics in other reviews, but I'd like to add that it encourages concentration, spatial and consequential thinking, and a drive to succeed (get that darn red car out!) Not to mention that it's perfect for taking on vacation -- small, transportable, and playable by one individual. The version we got has a plastic cover to keep the pieces safe, and as my daughter got older, we got a second set of harder cards. I highly recommend this game.
