Toys and Games Reviews of The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition with Blue Eyed North Pole Pixie-ElfCustomer Review: Great new Tradition Summary: 5 Stars
My sister in law sent this to our house this year. My 2 year old just loves looking for our elf every day. He also really enjoyed being able to name his elf. We are hoping the elf will play a factor in reminding our little man to be a good boy. Its a very cute tradition and I am very happy we have it. The book was a great addition, as well, as my son loves reading and it gives a great playful description of why the elf is visiting. The activity book that comes has some cute things to do however, my little man will probably have to wait until next year to be able to do them. They are a little too old for him right now. I am sure when his sister gets a little older too they will have a blast racing to see who can find "willy" first.
Customer Review: A fabulous tradition Summary: 5 Stars
The elf on the shelf has been a wonderful multi-generational decoration in our home every holiday. This is the first time I found the "legend" in book form, and although the package as a whole bulky, it's a great find.
My kids are between 3-11 and sat quietly (seriously) listening to the story of the Elf on the Shelf and were please to name their own elves, which they then received an adoption certificate for their elf sign by Santa!
The children woke up early just to try and find the elf hiding before they came (in their most quiet parent-awakening way) clomping down the halls to waken us for the morning.
This will be a great book and tradition for generations continued.
Customer Review: The little elf sees all! Summary: 5 Stars
What a delightful addition to our Christmas holiday tradition! I heard about this book and elf over the Thanksgiving holliday and ordered the set right away. Several grandchildren were coming to our house and we had only a few days to talk about the elf. An older granddaughter set it up for us and managed to see that the elf moved around the house each night. Our 8 year old granddaughter entered into the fun immediately and started looking around for the elf. It is lots of fun for the children and Grandmommie, too! Next year we will have more time to remember and talk about it, before the Elf starts visiting us.
I am sorry we didn't have this whimsical elf sooner, with my own children.
Customer Review: An OK Elf Summary: 3 Stars
Bought the product(elf and book)at a Hallmark store with the same price. It's not cheap but I thought it would be great for the kids since I've read more positive reviews than negative.I would have rated this product 4-5 stars only the elf is tiny about 8 and 1/2 inch(you have to see the elf for yourself)from the tip of his hat to his feet.Could've made him more sturdier.I think I paid for the book instead of the elf.My kids, ages 7 and 5 like the idea of finding him though. My only problem is that I have to lie everytime they ask questions.Sure it reinforces good behavior but like the one reviewer says what happens after December 26? I wouldn't recommend this as a good Christmas tradition if you ask me.
Customer Review: Bring magic to every child in your life! Summary: 5 Stars
We just received this boxed set as a gift from far-away friends, and I can't TELL you how much fun this has been for our kids (4 and 8) the last few mornings (and maybe also their mother)!!! Our "Elfis" is very clever, and hides in really difficult places, making us wonder as we search in vain whether he's gotten lost on his return trip from the North Pole, or whether he got stuck in a snowbank, or if he caught cold and had to stay in the NP infirmary...? The creativity and wonder and magic are nearly limitless. THANK YOU to the authors for sharing this with all our families, to the illustrator for the beautiful artwork, and to our friends for one of our most exciting holiday traditions EVER!
