Toys and Games Reviews of The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition with Blue Eyed North Pole Pixie-ElfCustomer Review: The Elf Is Coming to Our House Every Year! Summary: 5 Stars
After hearing from friends and reading reviews how great this was, we bit the bullet and got it. I cannot say enough about how cute this was for our two boys (age 6 and 3). They bolted downstairs every morning to find the elf, and the oldest cried when he touched it accidentally because he thought it would lose its magic. The story and elf was the sweetest thing. Note, however, that parents have to remember to move the elf around every night, or come up with creative excuses for why the elf decided to come back from the North Pole into the same spot! :-).
Customer Review: The best way I know to build the anticipation of Christmas Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased two of these elves, and struck gold. The best toy I have ever found, so simple, yet a great imagination builder! Every night I had to find a new place to hide them. It was as much fun for me as it was for the girls. We even had the elves take back the christmas lists to Santa. Stories were written on notes explaining the big event, from reindeer feeding and preparation, to weather conditions. Alvin and Easton have know become part of our family for life. We all look forward to next December when we will be reunited with our dear friends.
Customer Review: Great tradition! Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered this item for my nieces' children. This adorable Elf reports all good and bad behavior back to Santa every night and returns to a different place in their home the next day! The kids are having fun looking for the Elf each morning. The beautifully illustrated book explains the story of the Elf and his/her reason for being at the child's house. (To report back to Santa how the children are behaving.) It's a fun way to get children to make good behavior choices. (or atleast a fun way to get them thinking twice about their behavior choices)
Customer Review: So much fun! Summary: 5 Stars
My kids just received this Thanksgiving day as a gift and I am now ordering them for every child I know. It is such a cute idea. Santa sends the elf to watch the children and then the elf reports to Santa every night and comes back to a different spot in the house. My kids wake up with a running start to see who can find the elf first. The kids must name the elf and they really enjoyed that as well. It is such a nice tradition to help make the Christmas Season even more fun and special. I know it will be with our family for a very long time.
Customer Review: Don't take it so seriously, it's a fun tradition Summary: 5 Stars
I just bought this for my children 8,5, and 3. My son has been asking for one for awhile. They really enjoy the story and loves how the elf moves every night. I also think it's a good idea of the no touching rule, and our elf will go back in the book after Christmas and brought back next year. What a fun new tradition! I've read a couple negative reviews about what is this teaching them, and that it's creepy about the elf going to tell Santa their behavior. COME ON! It's a fun tradition, don't take everything so seriously! No harm done.
