Toys and Games Reviews of Techno Source Rubik's RevolutionCustomer Review: It's a thriller Summary: 5 Stars
Our whole family (from 3 to 60) has been enjoying this game since the 12 yr old opened it up for Christmas. He thinks it's fanastic because it is challenging, exciting to play and he especially likes the thrill of playing "pattern panic." Our 10 yr old thinks its really cool with all the colors and she says, "It keeps you going, making you think because you gotta be quick." Even the 3 yr old is trying to master it and constantly wants her turn! I like the fact that it's kindda an old fashion toy that's fun--providing hours of entertainment--and priced right. I think those of you who were disappointed need to chill and consider what you're dealing with here...a different place and time in terms of a TOY...it's not your father's Rubik's.
Customer Review: Not a Rubik's cube Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this at a toy store thinking it was some sort of giant electronic Rubik's cube. It is not. It does not twist or turn. It simply looks like it might. Instead it is a solid chunk of plastic that plays Simon like games, in which you press buttons on the center of each side. If you want an oddly shaped Simon game, this might be the toy for you. But if you are considering this item because it has the "Rubik's" name on it and it looks like the classic puzzle you should probably reconsider.
I feel very misled and wish I had not purchased this item. The packaging does not state what it does or does not do. They are leveraging the shape and name of the cube to sell something completely unrelated.
Customer Review: Great fun for adults & children alike Summary: 4 Stars
We bought this game last year when it was a *great* deal at under $10 and am glad that we bought several to hand out at birthday parties, to which my kid's get invited. It's probably best suited for a gift to those 6-11. Although, the adults had fun playing it too! The fact that there is a game on each side of the toy makes it more like 6 games in one and quite a good value. Each person can enjoy their favorite game, or several players can challenge each other on one game.
The only drawback is that after being handled frequently by players, the colored squares started to peel off. A lot of squares peeled off. Regular glue hasn't fixed it but I haven't tried super glue yet.
Customer Review: Great fun for 5-10 year old & adult Summary: 4 Stars
This is our standby toy gift for all children's birthday parties. I purchased at 4.95 and is a bargain at that price. The different sides have different types of games. It can hold a child's attention for at least a half an hour and is a good toy to go back to when put away for any length of time. It's challenging but not so much that a 5 year old can't attempt it. As an adult, I had fun trying it too! The only drawback we've experienced so far is that the "colors" on the different squares are just glued on and have a tendency to fall off. We've attempted to glue some back on, with no luck. But, at $5, we just opened another. :-) A great toy for 5 - 10 yr olds, both boy and girl!
Customer Review: New-fangled isn't always better Summary: 1 Stars
I bought two of these as Christmas stocking stuffers for my kids, ages 8 and 18. After seeing the commercial, I'd thought this was simply a standard Rubik's cube with noise (like just about every other toy has these days).
In reality, it's not the same thing at all. The pieces don't even move! Yes, there's an instruction manual that explains the various games which you can supposedly play on it, but that was one of the first things each kid lost, and after that it's impossible to play with.
So now, rather than a Rubik's cube for Christmas, it turns out I gave them both square paperweights that will no doubt be in the trash by the end of next week.
