Customer Review: Good, Solid Case-Could Use Some Upgrades...

I bought this case for my twin 3 year olds and they love it. We have a large collection of die cast vehicles from various makers and I wanted general storage for home and travel.
I read many reviews on this product and didn't know what to think. Opinions ranged widely on this product. I decided to take a chance because there was no other comparable option. I could've bought each boy their own case (each holding 48 cars), but then I wondered if that would be too heavy for each boy to carry. I also liked the idea of the attached launcher for a travel toy.
All in all, I am happy with this case. My children love rolling it all over the house. They are average sized 3 year olds and, so far, do not find the case to be too heavy (it's only 50% full). They take cars in and out of the case all day and the latches, wheels, and plastic shelving show no sign of wear. The gray piece keeps cars in place just fine for me
The launcher is okay. My children are young enough to still find it impressive, but I think that the 6 year old that the case is recommended for would find be disappointed. The cars generally shoot out and tailspin after a few inches. My biggest issue is that it doesn't fit about half of our car collection. I assumed all die cast cars were made equally, but I was wrong. This holds 1:64th scale Hot Wheel Vehicles. My Disney Pixar Cars, Tonka, and even some of my larger appropriately scaled Hot Wheel vehicles don't fit (be ware if you have lots of Hot Wheels/Matchbox construction and emergency cars-they tend not to fit). There are about 20 larger spaces for irregular size/shape vehicles, but not enough to accommodate us.
So the case does what is supposed to-as long as you have 80 Hot Wheels Brand 1:64th scale sports cars and 20 of their other vehicles. I, on the other hand, have one great case, and a remaining storage issue.
