My 5-yr old daughter had played this at her cousin's house and loved it, was always wanting to borrow it. So I bought it for her because I knew how much she enjoyed it. She loves to make up her own rules, and pretty much has all the names of the horses memorized. We have learned interesting things about horses on the backs of the cards, and she is now trying to learn about the horses' markings and coloring. I've learned from it too! Almost all kids love horses, and Herd Your Horses allow kids to get their favorite horses together in their own herds, on their own ranches!
Allows good imaginative play, as well as thinking, counting, etc.
Negative:
Not readily recommended for kids much younger than that recommended ages. The rules are a little more challenging than some of the other games for the same age groups.

I have six siblings, and all of us like this game. Even my Dad likes it. There are actually three games in one, so you never get bored. The artwork on the horse cards is amazing. My siblings and I love to compete to see who can make it to the finish line with the prettiest horses. The names are cool too. It says ages 8 and over, but my five year old sister can play it with some help. It's a great buy, and I would recommend it to anyone interested.

Each player collects a herd of wild mustangs and ranch horses, and "adventure" cards add an element of chance. Each horse has a name, its picture card tells a little about it's personality and it's breed (if a ranch horse). The game can be played several ways. My daughter has wanted this game for a long time, and I was surprised that she actually likes it as much as she thought she would, and is still playing with it nearly every day for almost a month now.Customer Review: Great Game!!! I bought this game for my 8 year old neice in November last year. It was a big hit!! This game is so great. There are 3 ways to play it. The horse cards are beautifully illustrated and have lots of great facts about each horse on them. This game is so much fun for the whole family. In fact, I think I'm going to buy it for my 5 year old son. Every time we visit my neice, that's all he wants to play. It's a really fun game and a MUST for any horse lover.
