Customer Review: Poor Build & Quality Control

I bought 2 of these as gifts and neither one worked out of the box. The design of a jaw harp should leave very little space between the tongue and the arms of the frame. These harps had loads of room and the tongue was off center, producing no sound even when played properly. I had to use a hammer to bend the arms closer together, which ultimately made it functional after bending the tongue to the center, but even then the space between the tongue and arms increased as you move away from the end which hampers sound quality. It would be very difficult and require more tools than I have to make either one of these harps resemble the example on the box. It shouldn't be that difficult to produce even a cheap yet functional jaw harp, but it's obvious by the number of similar stories that these manufacturers just don't care that they make junk.
Skip this model. I had better luck with one of the D shaped harps rather than these tear drop shaped ones. I'd recommend looking in that direction.
