This set has a lot, really a lot, of small pieces. So as long as your kid isn't a human vacuum you are good to go. Now if he/she munches on everything I would not get them this set, or you may end up in the ER with a miniature stop sign lodged in their throat.
All the pieces keeps our little guy occupied for a long time. I consider this one of the better "keep quiet" toys that we have bought. He is like the energizer bunny, he just keeps on going, and going, and going with this set.
As some reviewers mentioned it is a cheaply made set, but what toy isn't nowadays? Plus the cardboard parts are basically a life saver if the little carpet muncher decides to gnaw on anything.
Overall good buy. Will keep them occupied for a while, and will last as long as they aren't too hungry. I would buy it again if I had to.
