Customer Review: Just okay, but may be best option

My 6 year old likes this ATM and has fun knowing how much money he has in it. I searched this type of product online and not many of them had good reviews. So maybe this is the best there is for a kids' toy.
Be warned, however, that it doesn't hold a LOT of money (in coins, anyway.) The money is all stored behind that rectangular door at the bottom which is only about half as deep as the machine itself. When you get very many coins in there, the next time you open the door to make a "withdrawal" (you open the door, take some out, then type in the amount of you removed), they all come spilling out before you can shut the door again. It would be great if the money was sorted somehow or dropped into a place that would not fall out.
Also, this machine does not count $2 bills.
It's fun, but not very impressive.

Santa brought this ATM for my 7 yr. old son. For the expense, I would have hoped it at least kept track of how much you were depositing. You have to input that info. yourself. No big deal! BUT the noise level is out of control! Grates on my nerves everytime I hear it. There is no way to disable the DEMO button so everytime my 2 yr. old gets a hold of it, we have to listen to the Demo lady over and over until someone can go take it away from him! It's not a very educational toy in my opinion. Just a 'cool' way of storing your money. You also have to keep up with the ATM card which is probably easier for an older child instead of a 7 yr. old.
Next time I will purchase the little jar thing from Discovery that actually counts your money as you put it in. ???

Ok..so I can understand colors may vary - it might be darker or lighter or within the same color family...but pink??? that is a little drastic. I ordered one of these for my son for Christmas. I was aware of the "color may vary" disclaimer - but again, I was thinking "different shade of blue or gray"...but it came pink. If the colors vary that much then they need to give you a choice at check-out. I dont like having to replace a gift I have already decided on and I dont like taking the time to return something. We were really impressed with the speed of shipping the product to us. We procrastinated until the last week before Christmas and did not expect to see the bank until after the holidays especially since we only choose basic delivery. So when the bank showed up 2 days before we were really happy. The bank was a big hit with our daughter. It does everything we expected and will help in keeping track of her savings. It teaches a child the value of keeping up with the ATM card to gain access to the bank and how to make deposits, withdrawels, and checking the balance. It will take some work to keep up with your money because you have to keep track of your withdrawels and deposits. My daughter loves it. My 11 year old daughter was keeping her money in a plastic egg and then misplacing it on a regular basis. I thought this ATM might be an interesting place for her to keep money and be able to see what she was saving plus it's a lot bigger than a plastic egg and harder to loose. The first machine had some problem with the batteries and they needed replacement 3 times in the first two weeks. It was impossible to read the screens minutes after the new batteries were inserted. I returned the first machine which was very easy, I had never returned anything to Amazon before. The new machine works great, came with functioning batteries and I think my daughter may be on her way to financial success!
