I got 3 of these almost a year ago, and I have used them for a total of maybe 5 hours in that time. I've used them with normal white chalk, and crayola colored chalk. Also the white hypoallergenic stuff.
For me, they've always gripped the chalk well, and I love the solid/heavy feel. No wear or rust noticeable so far. It looks like they will last forever.
The only way I can imagine to improve these would be:
1. put a clip on them!!! (as another reviewer said) so I can put them in my shirt pocket without them rattling around.
2. omit the moronic sticker, which I spent 10 minutes scraping off, and fire the person who decided they were a good idea. The holders themselves are so beautiful and graceful!
Recently some students in my wife's math class actually got excited when they saw these things. "Wow, what are those?" :-)
p.s. to Amazon. This chalk holder should not be classified as a "toy".
It's an office supply, or a teaching aid.
