Toys and Games Reviews of Step2 WaterWheel Activity Play TableCustomer Review: My young kids LOVE this table.. Summary: 5 Stars
I got this for my 3 and 1 year old.. Setting up the big kiddie pool is such a pain.. and they dont play in it for very long... keeping it clean, having to heat up the water, etc all make it a pain.. So I purchased this water table thinking they could have fun and cool down without much work.. It's been a huge hit this summer.. They get in their suits, I load it with toys like cups and boats and they just have fun dumping it everywhere.. The fact that it is cold hose water does not matter as they are not immersed in it. The neighbors come over and love playing with it too.. They dump water all over themselves to cool off and have so much more fun than they ever did in my kiddie pool.. And it fills up in a minute and my 3 year old fills it up herself... so I think it's a big hit.. Now when the other neighbors come over who are bigger, 6 and 8, they are very bored with it.. But this is perfect for young kids!!!
Customer Review: The best water play table! Summary: 5 Stars
This water play table from Step 2 is amazing! It is sturdy and incredibly easy to put together - it took me about 10 seconds to do it. It is also easy to store away when not in use. I bought this for my 18-month old son who absolutely loves it. He loves to splash in the water, play with the boats, the water wheel, the cup, etc. He gets upset when I say water play time is over - he would play with it all day if he could! It is also great for the hot summer weather because splashing around in the water keeps your child cool while keeping them occupied at the same time. It is educational as well because children can learn the concept of in/out, wet/dry, how boats float on water, what makes the water wheel spin around, etc. If your child has sensory issues, this can help with that by exposing him/her to new experiences, textures, etc. I recommend this product for anyone with a child who is toddler age!
Customer Review: Great Outdoor Play Summary: 4 Stars
I recently bought this table for my 16 month old, but my 4 year old also gets some fun out of it.
It was very easy to put together, took about 5 minutes at the most. My only complaint on the manufacturing is there is no drain to let the water out so you have to dump it, which isn't that big of a deal, but would've liked to just pull a plug of some sort to let it out. The wheel tower is easy for my little one to push over, but again, minor things.
My 16 month old LOVES it. This is the first toy that we have purchased for him that will keep his attention for more than a few minutes. He loves water so it has been a blast for him. My 4 year old helps him by dumping the water into the bucket.
Well worth the money, definitely would recommend it to other parents looking for something to do out in the sun.
Customer Review: Terrific Outdoor Fun, Great Price! Summary: 5 Stars
We have owned this water play table for nearly siz months, and its play value has not decreased at all. It is short enough that our 16 month old has always been able to participate comfortably, and interesting enough that it still attracts my 4 and 6 year old children as well.
The water wheel is great fun, and the children love scooping water into its reserve to make it spin. The two levels of the table give the children individual play space if two children are playing. Now that winter is approaching, I look forward to adding sand instead of water to the table. I appreciate the easy-to-open plugs built into the basin, as it makes it easy to remove water (or sand). The toy, though sturdy, is also lightweight enough for an adult to pick up and simply pour water out, if desired. Children cannot, however, easily move or turn the table over.
Customer Review: Great fun! Summary: 4 Stars
I haven't read all the reviews, but see that someone had the same problem that we did--the water wheel wasn't turning. My Dad (the plastics expert!) discovered that there was extra "flash," around the piece that connected it to the tower. I think flash is just extra plastic that came from when it was manufactured. He removed it with a pocket knife and voila! it works great. Now even a small trickle of water will move the wheel.
We got this for my son's 1st birthday and he LOVES it. I do think he would love splashing in any type of water, but this is the perfect height for him. I do agree that it would be nice if the tower "clicked" in somehow though, because that's the first thing to get thrown on the ground.
But it was fairly easy to assemble (once the water wheei worked) and a pretty simple toy that brings lots of fun.
