Toys and Games Reviews of Step2 Push Around Buggy (Red)

Customer Review: Such a great idea - but should have rubber wheels!
Summary: 3 Stars

My neighbor lent me this car to use with my son. At the time... her boy was just a little over three and mine was maybe 7 or 8 months. Her boy didn't want to give it up! Yeah, I felt bad for taking it but she said not to worry, he was much too big for this and was learning to ride his bike. :-) So I took it...

Well, it's a great idea. My boy loved to sit in it, loved to be pushed around... the key and horn and trunk are amusing...the handle comes off the back really easy so you can throw this in the trunk of your car if you want...

But it had one flaw that kept me from using it much - it is LOUD! The wheels are just plastic and when you push this thing on a sidewalk, it is just soooo noisy. It didn't seem to both my son at all, but I felt like a complete nitwit pushing this thing around. So I have given it back to my neighbor and I'm going to look for some sort of rubber tired push device, probaby a tricycle when he's a little older (he'll be a year next week...)

This toy is clearly fun for the little ones and it's really a great idea... but I want something I can go for long walks with, and this just carries too much of an embarassment factor for me. So if you plan short walks or have a high tolerance for feeling like people are staring at you, this might work. I don't care to feel like such a spectacle. :-(

Customer Review: Awesome ride on
Summary: 2 Stars

Wow! This ride on is great. I have two little girls 16 mo. and 4 years old that started riding on this before they were a year old. The back of the seat gives great support for the little one, the width is wide enough so they don't slide off to one side or the other, and it has a seat belt!! My daughters loved to ride down the sidewalk pretending to steer all the way. It has a horn that beeps, a key, and the trunk in the front is great for stuffing toys, blankets or what ever you dont want to carry along with you on your journey. The trunk is easy to open and close, my daughters spent many hours on this, and my little one still loves to jump on and go for rides. I have recieved numerous complaiments with this cute toy. It's soo easy to put in your trunk or the back seat, and the kids just love riding on it. We used it for Halloween for each of my daugters when they were too young to walk fast enough with the rest of the group and it can pretty much go through any terrain like nothing. My only complaint is that the steering wheel broke off one time and no matter how many times we glue it together it won't stay on and the back wheels have begun to crack down the middle of each tire. But I know it has been used many many times also.

Customer Review: Best Thing Since Sliced Bread..
Summary: 5 Stars

My son is obsessed with his car. I totally wasn't going to get him one of these, because I thought it was something we could live without. My son was given one for his first birthday and now I see the error of my ways. I have to watch my son like a hawk, because he has learned to bypass the baby gate in order to get outside to his car. He is always so happy to get put in it for a ride & he isn't the type of kid that goes in a stroller easy. My only complaints are that its really loud, the wheels don't really pivot, they can't make the car go themselves, they can't sleep in it- so you end up carrying the baby and pushing the damn thing, and creepy guys use the car as a pick up line. All things considered though, I'm so glad that someone smarter then me thought to buy this for my little guy. Whenever I take my son to the park or play park all the little ones freak out over this car, and the older ones want to push the little ones it, which provides my son with an excellent opportunity to practice sharing. I ran into a guy at the farmers market that had one as a kid, and he said that the car is worth its weight in gold- I'd say that's an accurate statement.

Customer Review: Loud but Fun Alternative to a Stroller
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this push buggy almost a year ago on sale for $20.00 for my then 9-month-old to push him around the neighborhood and backyard. He didn't seem to care for it much then but began to ask for a ride in it at 13 months and now LOVES to be pushed by Mommy and Daddy practically everyday. He even takes turns pushing the neighborhood toddlers in it, and vice versa. It was somewhat hard to put the blue handlebar on, but so far, I don't see it coming out or breaking (unlike other ride-ons I've heard about). However, there are two drawbacks: (1)the wheels are loud on concrete/asphalt (a little louder than skateboards, perhaps), and (2) we left the buggy outside in the rain one day and haven't been able to get the water out!? There's a "plug" or nut underneath the body, but we've been unable to open it (probably wasn't meant to be anyway, so we leave the buggy outside now, "swishing" everytime we push our son. Otherwise, even my husband recently gave me the thumbs up and said, "This was a good purchase." It also gives us a chance to discuss crossing the street safely--you can never start too early.

Customer Review: THE Best Toy Purchase Ever!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best toy purchase that I have ever made, and believe me, I've made lots! I purchased the Step 2 Push Around Buggy as a first birthday gift for my son, and he absolutely loves it! We cruise all over the neighborhood, and stopping to "re-fuel" ourselves with water is easy to do since the trunk holds his sippy cup and a bottle of water for me too! Traveling with the buggy is easy to do also. My car trunk is roomy enough where as I don't need to remove the handle from the buggy, but it's nice to know that the storage area for the handle underneath the buggy is there just in case. The Push Around Buggy could conveniently be used in lieu of a stroller. Its trunk could easily hold a few diapers, a sippy cup, your car keys and wallet, and a small toy or two. I can't believe the attention we get when I am strolling my son around in his cool car! Everyone wants to know where they can purchase one! This truly is the best toy purchase I have made. I would recommend the Push Around Buggy without reservation! It's priced right, durable, adorable, and an absolute blast for my one-year-old!
