Toys and Games Reviews of Step2 Naturally Playful SandboxCustomer Review: Two toys in one Summary: 4 Stars
We've had this sandbox for just over a month. In that time, the table has withstood several major storms and lots of toddler playtime. My daughter is barely 2 and around 31 lbs. She loves to climb the plastic lid. I often lay it next to the sandbox and she has a grand time climbing the lid and jumping into the sand. About the only drawback I've found is that the lid's design--a sun with a sort of raised geometric grid around it--is a great raincatcher. Since we play with the box every day, any rainwater is quickly disposed of but I can see where it would be a nice mosquito breeding ground during vacation times.
Customer Review: Love this sandbox! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my niece's 2nd birthday. It is wonderful. I filled it with four 50-lb bags of playsand. The corners are perfect for her to sit on and play. The size is also perfect for 1-2 small children. It is small enough to fit on the patio at her house (she doesn't really have a yard). I would not recommend for more than 3 children as sand starts flying outside of the box. The color and design is great, especially if you don't want anything too "gaudy" in your yard. The best thing about this is that you can take the sand out (and maybe store in a rubbermaid tub) and fill it with water also.
Customer Review: Glad I read the reviews Summary: 5 Stars
I was thinking of another sandbox - they had it out in the store and it looked pretty good. The day we were to bring it home I looked online to see how much sand we needed to buy and saw a long list of bad reviews and recommendations for the Naturally Playful Sandbox. We bought the Naturally Playful Sandbox and my 2½ year old daughter LOVES it. The lid is domed and holds all her toys inside. We had a heavy rain yesterday and everything inside stayed dry. We have only had it a week but know we made the right decision. A little bit more money was well worth it. Thanks to everyone who shared an opinion.
Customer Review: Great for sand and more!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I just bought this in conjunction with the Step 2 sand and water table. I was going to put sand in this, but my kids insisted on water. It makes a great wading pool! I just tip it to dump (there's no plug to drain, but it's easy to do). After dumping, this makes a great place to store all the outdoor toys my 2 boys have. Next time, I am going to try leaving the water in and storing with the cap on for a bit while the water warms up for the kids to play in. The cap covers completely so I don't expect to get bugs. Eventually, I will get some sand in there, if my kids will let me!!!
Customer Review: Summertime fun Summary: 5 Stars
My 2-year-old daughter loves her new sandbox and is always sad when she has to leave it to come inside. It seems very durable, though I wish the lid "clicked" into place instead of simply resting on top of the base. Otherwise I would've rated it "5 stars" for durability as well as in the "fun" category. The appearance is very appealing, as it is not brightly-colored and isn't likely to fade as drastically as plastic sandboxes which begin as green or red, but fade unevenly in the sunshine. We hope (and expect) to use this sandbox for years to come.
