My husband and I bought this for our 2 1/2-year-old daughter and she absolutely loves it! She plays in it every day. We liked the idea of natural look so it would not stand out like a sore thumb in the backyard. It is big enough to hold my daughter and two of her friends. She also has a 6-year-old cousin who loves to play in it. They play for hours in it. The sides have little blocks on the corners for the kids to sit while in the sandbox and they are sturdy enough for an adult to sit on. The cover is high and rounded at the top so we are able to store all of her sand toys in the box. We are very happy with this purchase and would recommend this Step 2 product to anyone looking for a sandbox for young children.Customer Review: Purchased recently for my home daycare

I just bought this sandbox a couple of weeks ago. There are kids ages 2-9 at my daycare and every single one of them love to play in this sandbox. I have 300 lbs of sand in it plus a ton of sand toys. The curved lid holds it all in and keeps the water and animals out. The older kids have even played hide and seek inside it, so there's lots of room under that lid!I got this sandbox because it was the biggest plastic one I found. There is plenty of room for 3 or 4 2-4 yr olds to sit inside and play, but usually all of the kids sit around the outside. They don't like to get sand in their shoes!
Overall this is a great sandbox! And if it can withstand a daycare full of kids 'abusing' it, I'd say it's pretty tough!

We own this sandbox. I like its color, but there are two key improvements I would make. First, the plastic "stones" at the four corners are quite uncomfortable to sit on. So you and your child will need to sit in the sand to be comfortable. They should have smoothed out the corners for comfortable seating. Secondly, it's great that it has a lid, but although our three year-old can remove the lid fairly easily, she cannot replace it by herself. I've seen sandboxes with hinged lids, and wish we had chosen one. Finally, if you do get this sandbox, drill holes in the bottom before placing it your yard. That way if you ever leave the lid off during a rainstorm, the rain will be able to drain out of the sandbox.Customer Review: Tastefully Fun

The backyard was beginning to resemble a little tikes/step 2 show room, so when I started researching sandboxes for our three boys, this was a no-brainer. Truthfully, the kids could care less whether the sand is on the ground or in a pink plastic pig. They love sand play. I was happy to buy them a sand box and even happier that it wasn't a pink plastic pig shape. So happy was I with the concept, that I went ahead and bought them the naturally cottage to go with it. Needless to say the product is durable and most importantly, keeps the sand dry and mold free. Moldy sand is worse than no sand, because it's there, they want to play and they can't. Kudos to Step 2 for a truly kid and parent friendly product.Customer Review: Cameron is 9 1/2 months old and loves his sandbox!

Yesterday, I took Cameron to the park and he played in the public sandbox there for the first time. He had such a good time scooping sand with a shovel and picking up the sand and tossing it in the air. As soon as we got home, I got online and found this awesome sandbox for him at Amazon/ToysRUs.com. I rushed out to Toys R Us and bought it the same day. Although the suggested age range for this sandbox is 12 months and up, Cameron really enjoys it. He doesn't even realize he's improving his hand/eye coordination. He just knows it's fun. I like the fact that it is colored like nature and not in primary colors. It really blends into the rest of our backyard and doesn't make it look like a daycare center.
