Customer Review: Nice, big table, but beware of the legs...

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this purchase. I have 2-year-old twins and a four-year-old, so I wanted a table with plenty of work space. This was the biggest one I could find for the money. My biggest complaint is that the legs often come out of the locked position (there's a locking mechanism on the underside of the legs to keep them from folding in). The table isn't used a whole lot and the boys never climb on top of it, so I'm not sure why this keeps happening.
The chairs are very durable (I often sit in them)and it isn't too gaudy looking (I chose not to put the cheesy stickers on the sides). But, with tiny chairs, expect to trip over them as you're passing by - they'll never be slid under the table. You can also buy extra chairs that somewhat match at ToysRUs.
We used to have a large yellow, blue and red children's picnic table but had to leave it behind in a move. The manufacturer only makes that model with a large cup hole in the middle now, which I'll never understand. That really was the BEST table - the benches were attached and there was a very large work space. This table is a good second choice.

After one to many bowls of food ended up "some how" falling to the floor when trying to feed my 20 month old daughter, I decided she was ready to try a "big girl" table... I wanted something easy to clean, big enough for her to eat & play at, yet light enough to put away if needed... we got all that and more with this wonderful table & chairs. Putting it together was a snap, just four screws to install the table legs and the chairs just snap open. She was thrilled with it and had no problem sitting on the chairs (or climbing on them backwards, yet they didn't tip over!) and she loves sitting at the table to eat or use crayons or have tea parties. I love that its so easy to clean, plus the whole thing folds up in seconds if I need to stash it under or behind the sofa for a bit of extra room. Can't go wrong with this... there are many more attactive sets out there but this does the job and does it well.Customer Review: Another Great Step 2 item

We really wanted a table in the $40 range but I pointed out to my husband that Step 2 stuff is basically undestructable and will last us for years. Extremely easy to put together. The chair seats are just a tad too high for our 17 mo. old which is to be expected as it is aged 2+. We'll keep an eye out and store them for a bit if need be. The table is the perfect height for him to stand & work with his mega blocks, eat a snack etc. This table has a large surface area compared to others. I'm thinking that my son is going to use the chairs to climb on so if this is a concern for you you might want to go with the picnic style table instead. Also the surface is fairly smooth so when drawing with crayons it doesn't make the drawing turn all funky like some rougher table surfaces do.Customer Review: Great set!!

We were so blessed to find this set at Target this past weekend (7/29/06) on clearance for $14.99! So if anyone reads this soon, go check out your local Target toy department end caps.
So easy to put together, colorful and lots of room. My son is 22 months and already loves this table. It's only been 3 days, but as of now, we do not find the table wobbly at all. Hubby used a drill to get the screws in nice and tight.
My 7 yr. old sat in the chairs and she is 60 pounds. Of course she did this when we weren't looking and immediatly got out of them when we saw her. My point is, even with her in the chair, we didn't see a problem. So all in all, we are extremely pleased with this set so far. For $14.99 I can't complain!

I now have 3 sets of these table chair sets...they are the BEST, very durable and my kids LOVE it. I have one set up in my kitchen for the kids to sit and color or do crafts,etc. It's also perfect for holidays, the kids love to sit at the kids table when everything is so neat and kid sized. We set the tables for them and they feel special sitting at their own table that is just the right size. I can't tell you how sturdy the chairs are, too. Just perfect and worth every penny! The fact that they all fold up neatly and put away without a struggle is perfect for busy mom's. I'm ordering another set for my daisy troop meetings.
