I was disappointed that I didn't recieve the play food assortment that was pictured/discribed. I wanted the canned and boxed foods that went along with the common food items. Instead I recieved 101 pieces of food. Some are a little strange looking, like the shrimp, for a 3 year old to play with. I've read reviews about this product discussing the strange sizes of the items. An example being, the bananas are really small, but I believe they are made that way so each item can fit on your child's toy plate or in their pots and pans. Overall...my daughter will have fun with them.Customer Review: Fun food!

My now 23 month old got this food as a Christmas present. She really enjoys the different foods (and is there just about anything you can think of including sushi and tacos!!) Some of the items, we can't figure out what the heck they are supposed to be though... Also, a few of the items have sharp points (like the ice cream cones) that could have been made in a different style to avoid the sharp edges I think. Overall, she has enjoyed it, but if I had to do it all over again, I maybe would have waited until she was just a little bit older for this particular food set.Customer Review: Food is Much Smaller Than Anticipated & Poor Quality

If you are looking for play food that is like little tikes or fisher price, this is not it!! There is a reason you get 101 pieces for 19.99!! These pieces are much smaller and made from a thinner cheaper plastic. Not at all what i expected from a quality company like step 2. To top it off, this set does NOT come in a retail box but is cheaply packaged in plastic bags. I am sure my daughter doesn't mind these are cheaply made or small but i sure as heck do. I could have bought a Kidconnection set from walmart for less money and maybe even of better quality!Customer Review: Interesting Selection of Food

I agree the packaging was not the greatest, consisted of two plastic bags with parts inside, but if not giving for a gift, it didn't really matter. My shipment did not have any canned goods, but that was ok. Some of the foods were an interesting variety, (explain to a 2 year old what sushi is) and a couple of the items I'm still not sure what they are....but overall she loves it and we have spent many hours playing restaurant. Her stuffed animals have a nightly feast of an interesting combination of foods. Great imaaginative play!Customer Review: ok but not as pictured

I was somewhat happy with this - although NONE of the cans and boxes that are pictured are in the selection I received and happened to be the only reason I ordered it. Otherwise it's exactly like all the other cheap playfood you can buy but if you like Mexican food, or Japanese, you will love the tacos,burritos,sushi and other ethnic foods that my children have NO IDEA what they are or how to "pretend" to cook them. (and are also not pictured) The picture representing this item should be changed and is false advertising.
