Ok, number 1 - this thing took less then 10 minutes to assemble. Those of you that say it took an hour...I don't know but I feel sorry for you. Number two - if you are making something cold, start with a beverage that has been refrigerated. It makes it work that much faster. Here's a tip...I bought the red box of Morton's salt at the grocery store that's called ice cream salt. It's in big chunks that dissolve less quickly and keep the ice cold for a lot longer time. Third, this thing is fun for the kids! I have never seem a Sprite slurpee but we make them all the time, as well as Coke and Juicy Juice. No diet stuff PER THE INSTRUCTIONS because of it's lack of sugar it doesn't freeze in this thing. So, my suggestion is to read the instructions, buy ice cream salt, and have fun! If you are an adult with no kids, go buy one of the almost $100 machines for your diet and alcohol beverages. This one is for the kids, since I did find it in Target's toy department!

The Slurpee Maker has an auto shutoff feature that will prevent it from spinning if the lid is not firmly in place. Simply press down firmly on the blue lid, then slide it forward toward the ON switch until it snaps into place. The lid must be firmly in place to ensure that the product will work correctly.
