Customer Review: Lots of fun!

The only thing my newly 7 year old daughter wanted for Christmas this year was a pogo stick. Santa brought her this instead and she's thrilled with it. She'd never used a pogo stick before, but she was determined to master this. After starting the day with her father or me spotting her as she balanced and bounced, she was bouncing unassisted through the living room and kitchen by Christmas dinner. As with any such toy (hula hoops, jump ropes, yo-yos, twirling batons, jacks, etc.), it takes practice to develop the balance, coordination and skill needed to get the hang of this, and that will happen at differing paces for individual kids, so I wouldn't necessarily use speed of mastery to judge the quality of this or similar toys. The toy, however, is of good quality, seems very sturdy and performs as it should. Plus, it's my daughter's favorite toy this year!
Update 12/28/09
2 days later, and my daughter now bounces around the house on this so much, I think this toy will be to my daughter as roller skates were to Tootie. She maneuvers from room to room, bouncing along the way, stops and balances while she picks up something from the table or opens a door...I may have to hide this toy. She is now able to get on the platform from the standing position recommended by the manufacturer, though when she initially got it, she would seat herself in a chair, place both feet on the platforms and then stand and bounce. This toy is definitely this year's hands-down winner!
